I was just thinking to start a thread about finding shoes for my green floral dress when I saw this post. I have a dress which is very similar to dress number four. I have sandals and tall boots and booties which look good with it. But I am stumped as to what color and style of fairly casual wear all day shoe which is right for this dress. I would like to purchase something new.

I currently own nude flats, dark brown high vamp low heel kitten heels, black loafers, black dressy clogs, and black minimalist sneakers and I am just not excited to buy black ballet flats at the moment. I have very fussy feet so the chance of finding something like the green pointy flats which can work for me is slim. So I'm looking for suggestions for something in the fairly basic color and concept category which is a closed shoe but not a boot. Thanks.

3style, rose gold is kind of my happy neutral with every dress, but especially that one! I like metallic footwear. Maybe post your dress on a new thread so others will see it?

Kari, Thanks for replying. Rose gold is such a lovely neutral. I wore a lot of gray clothing for many years. So in my imagination, the default is that metallic shoes are dark bronze or pewter, basically cool toned and dark. Luckily for me, my personal move away from gray and towards warmer colors (which has to do with my changes in complexion and hair color as I start my forties) is reflected in the market trends and I think that I ought to be able to find some rose gold or similar warm color in a style which fits my fussy feet.

I guess my next question is about tights/hose/nylons/stockings etc. If you wear them with the dresses and your rose gold shoes? And what color stockings do you choose? I haven't worn nude stockings in years. I usually go for black and occasionally other darker colors. But I do own a pair of nude ones. So I think I should try them out with the green dress and see how it feels and envision the ensemble with rose gold shoes.

I want a green dress! You look great, Kari! I love all your dresses and your smile too

Green is a signature color for you, so having more than 1 dress in green makes a lot of sense. Plus they are all lovely on you.

And after all this: I came across two green formal gowns that I have NO need for, but would be perfect. Can I just wear green gowns around the house?

You look fantastic in green. I especially love the cape dress.

I vote green gown around the house! You have an amazing selection of green dresses ++ and you look stunning in them! Love your signature style!

"Can I just wear green gowns around the house?" YES.

You won't be allowed to cook any more, though. Nor to do any household chores whatsoever. I bet your DH would be perfectly ok with that, too!

Maybe I need a forest green paisley apron and a tiara with emerald stones with which to do chores in.

You’re making me want a green dress.

It’s your best color, so wear as much of it as you want.
