When Angie raved about her washable navy merino turtleneck from Banana Republic, I thought it might work for me too and wow, does it ever! I'm wearing it for the first time today with the plaid pants and blue suede flats and I feel fantastic. Both pieces run true to size and are itch free. The pants are lined and very comfortable. They're a little different than the photo - they have a concealed closure at the waist instead of the exposed button shown.
The pink sweater and navy faux fur scarf were on sale after Christmas. As soon as I got them home, I styled them exactly as BR had in the store, with dark, straight leg jeans and blue suede wedges, and headed out for a casual date night with DH. I felt cozy, trendy, a little glitzy, and fabulous and he loved it too. The sweater is wool and cashmere so it feels like wearing a cozy cloud. Sleeves are full length - the bow is right at my wrist bone, and the sizing is pretty true or a little generous. The only one they had in the store in the bright magenta color was an XS and I almost didn't try it on since I usually wear a small. It fit perfectly. A few days later, I tried on the XS in the navy and it seemed a little short in the body so I bought the S. All three tops will go with the plaid pants. The scarf was way on sale in the store, otherwise I probably wouldn't have considered it, but it's well made and feels cozy and delicious around my neck. The color works with my two dress coats which are camel and charcoal. I welcome a little frivolity in the dark and cold of winter and the warmth and wearability make it practical.
