I was browsing VB jackets and noticed that some of the lovely models looked beautifully curvy. When I clicked on the photos I noticed that some of the jackets now go up to size 24. So if anyone has been sized out, because most seem to stop at size 12, it's well worth a look. I am particulary partial to this brand, despite the hurt me pricing, because of the quality and the clothes are incredibly flattering. Though I wish it was offered in more styles. Only 9 of the blazers in a 16, none of the outwear, maybe It's a start though.

there's a massive sale on yoox right now with many long line black blazers and i thought of you.

unfortunately, plus sizing on yoox is abysmal to nonexistent. really a function of the designers lack of broader sizing. it's ridiculous that i'm a medium on yoox.

Angie - I think it’s recent. I check the blazers not infrequently.
Anna - IKR but it’s a start. Almost a capsule to see how well the sizing sells. I hope they put the word out. Also the same jacket looks gorgeous on both models. The cuts are very flattering.
Janet - it really is. Everyone deserves nice clothes and it’s great to see.
Bj1111 - I don’t usually shop yoox. Do you do well on that site? I tend to be brand loyal for sizing or go for easy and free returns.

I remember Reformation doing a tiny plus size capsule, once, and never again. Hopefully this collection will stay.

i love yoox. my most memorable pieces came from there. i buy and return a lot because of funky designer proportions. but what i've kept, i have loved.

trolling the site for an event i'm hosting and to replace a costume national dinner jacket that i sadly outgrew.

you do have to be committed to surfing or very focused. it's the equivalent of online thrift store shopping. it's the thrill of the hunt and the bargain.

Anna - agreed the jacket is too snug. I saw the b&w check first. I didn’t look carefully but thought I’d looked good on in both sizes. I was just happy to see the option. But you’re right at any price point and size too tight is too tight.
Bj111 - I did look at yoox. I be never seen such a vast collection. I get overwhelmed y too much stuff. Then just shut down. That’s why I don’t like big stores unless I’m combing a small Dept. Also like internet w filters. Black jackets are hard enough to evacuate on line. I don’t think I have the strength to comb through. You are obviously super shopper. Some divine stuff if you have the patience, concentration and persistence to go through it all. Kudos!! I bow to a master!!

I noticed a very nice striped cardigan in inclusive sizing at Veronica Beard yesterday. I am agreeing with you, Gryffin, on this brand. They're expensive, but all their pieces are cut for flattery, not just to follow certain shapes that are on trend.

I envy those of you who have found great things on Yoox! I have trouble with Yoox -- I get overwhelmed and sidetracked, put a couple of things in a cart, and then forget about it. I'd love to try some of their pieces, but sizing is always a mystery in many of those brands, and I'm usually convinced they'll all be too small for me. Or something I love will only be available in a size 4. :-/

I do like VB styles very much, but most of their items are cut too straight for me. I have this striped moto, which does accommodate my hips and fits nicely in my usual top size, but their blazer cuts don't work on me -- I tried sizing up and it just looks too big everywhere else by the time it fits across my hips and boobs. I think that example Anna linked to shows that their cuts are like that, even when offered in larger sizes. It's not a great fit on that model.

bj111 - no you are super shopper girl! Like the navy seals of shopping! Impressed. You have the right yoox stuff!!
Janet - is your moto knit? They are so much more forgiving. I think every brand cuts for a specific silhouette. VB seems to cut for a straighter body, but you have many great pieces that look dreadful on me because I can't fill them out. If you haven't tried the scuba jacket, it does have a lot of stretch. That might work for you and there are some very nice knit pieces also.

Gryffin, yes, the moto does have some stretch, which greatly helps me! Sigh, I wish I "filled out" things a bit less. I suppose the grass is greener? Sometimes trying to dress curves in a way that is flattering and looks easy, casual and cool is a real challenge. So much looks either va-va-voom or frumpy with not much in between.

I love the scuba jacket with the leather moto dickey -- too bad I can't really justify throwing $1200 at it!

I'd never seen this brand. I have to say that I love the concept. I always feel claustrophobic in layers but I love the look. Yes, I hope they continue to expand the options in extended sizes. They are definitely on my wishlist!

kirstjen - the dickies are super cute. They are easy to zip in and out. So it' warmth and interest without bulk - esp if you are considering leather or the denim inserts. I have the hoodie, a sweater insert also. I'd love a dressy one. But I also love, love, love the jackets on their own.

this convo about filling out tops is interesting especially when your (my) body does not match your (my) preferred style.

i love lean structural looks that look best on less well endowed. my boobs however have decided to go the other way. i have 3 sets of bras to help me look flapper, not flat or vavoom depending on the clothing.

with jackets tho, it's the arms...i inherited my mother's generous upper appendages...along with her other better gifts.

Janet - I know, I like being boyish in figure - but not a lot of people would think that's very feminine. You have a gorgeous figure, but every figure type has real challenges. You look great in that BCBG arelia jacket and I looked dreadful. So we just get to enjoy different pieces. If you think about the scuba I would try the jacket. There is no discount for the dickeys. Then buy the leather dickey later. I got the jacket then added the leggings and the pants. So I staged it out. Oh and then the skirt. But it would have been too painful to get all at once. It's my current favorite suit.
bj111 - I hope that our preferred body type is the one we have!! I am in the tiny size chest group. So yes flapper styles are favorites. Smashing down the ladies - no issue - for me. But I think all bodies and body types are beautiful. They all require different silhouettes to achieve different goals. Just hoping that whatever one gets handed, everyone can be happy with that!! Personal best at it's finest. But good news we can shop for each other and enjoy vive la difference!!

You are lovely Gryffin and you bring warmth to your writing. I am so happy to hear that VB is offering their jackets in more sizes. Real women sizes. I tried a VB jacket on once (size 6 or maybe 8) and it fit but poorly. I am way too curvy for her jackets. I have the frumpy or vavoom issues. Smythe Duchess was better. But maybe a Scuba jacket would work. I like the idea of the dickies.

Style Fan - you are a sweetheart, thank you! Like Janet, I would suggest try one of the VB jackets with some stretch. The scuba is very forgiving, she does have some knit pieces. Also the double breasted cutaway style might work for you. But it's so true that every brand and cut is different. We just have to find the ones that work for us. Also SF, I believe Ummlila has a dickey jacket from Tory Burch. I don't know if she still make those but it's worth a look. TB is not my usual brand but now that I mention it I should also check it out!!
