Vans slip-ons...suitable for shallow low volume feet?

Hi ladies, I'm still looking for a light grey slip on sneaker. Any Vans owners amongst you? Would they suit a low volume narrow, heeled, shallow foot?

Vans specifically are for high volume feet. That's my experience over and over again.

The only slip-ons that have come close are these from Clarks, and they are STILL too wide for me. But insoles do help.

So my version of slip-on sneaks are these perforated oxfords that I got in John Lewis in London last year. HEAVELY comfortable and beautiful quality. Isabelle went and got a pair too.

Diane, I have shallow, low volume feet and the Sam Edelman slipons worked really well for me last year. I may be in the market for slip ons again this year, still trying to decide.

I have low volume feet that are narrow at the heel. Can't do Vans. Even the Sam Edelman slip ons were too wide.

I have these <http://www.adidas.com/us/super.....038;slot=1> in olive green. They are comfortable, get lots of compliments and stay on fine for walking but I inadvertently wore them to TRX exercise class today and they didn't stay on in more vigorous moves.

Thanks for the suggestions ladies. I will have a peruse. I already have a pair of Tamaris snake patterned ones and they are a reasonable fit. I do need an insole in them though. I'm after light grey or silvery tone.

Diane, my feet are probably medium to low volume...very narrow heel and narrow instep but wider at forefoot and a higher arch.

Anyway -- after trying on what felt like hundreds of slip ons and failing to keep them on, I got these Steve Maddens and sized DOWN a half size from my usual smallest size so they would stay on. It works because my toes are short but it would not work otherwise.

I also have these Eccos and they work a charm. Sort of like slip ons in feel and look. You can tighten or loosen the toggle for fit.

Diane I do think my feet are low volume. They're not very fleshy (bony) and I can't wear shoes like a d'orsay flat - I walk right out of them.

I just got these in black and they also come in light grey. My feet are low volume. They are super comfortable and stay on well. The only caveat is that the sole pading is a little thin so I aded some insoles I got at the drugstore. Don't know if the Naturalizer brand is available in the UK...

I can't do the Van's either.
I have ended up with some other-brand canvas types that fit narrower and some Sperry leather Seacoast semi-laceup/slipon.

Sorry for not getting back to this sooner. Had a busy morning and then a headache. All good now though.

Thanks so much for all the extra suggestions ladies. Some of the brands you all mentioned are available over here so I can do some digging around on the old interwebs.

In the mean time I had ordered some 'Ted and Muffy' sneakers last week which came and although gorgeous (and expensive) they were too deep and wide, so I feel like I was wearing the shoes boxes not the shoes, lol! I wouldn't mind, but they were supposed to be a narrow (yea...really?)

I also have these on their way to me : http://www.dunelondon.com/ella.....380005382/ which have a more almond toe, so I'm hoping may be a bit narrower...see photo

I'll keep on looking too and will keep you posted.

Mmm, yeah, that kind of shoes is too wide for my feet, too.
Looking for a style with more tapered, pointy, toe boxes work best for me.

I've not tried on these styles but I have shoes from German comfort brands Ara and Gabor that fit me - might be worth a try since the brands are known for cushioned soles and soft leather.

I agree Vans best fit high volume feet. That said, the one pair I've gotten gave me horrible blisters. I was surprised they need breaking in.

Ok, I drew a blank looking for the Gabor styles, but I struck lucky with Geox and these beauties are on their way to me too! All the Geox slip- ons look very slim so here's hoping!

The pair you found is beautiful, so I hope they work out. But I too have low-volume feet with narrow heels (albeit a medium-width forefoot) and I really like a pair of slip-ons I bought earlier this year from Nordstrom. The brand is "JSlides" which I hadn't heard of before, but they're great quality (leather upper AND lining, although the website description now shows a different colorway and claims otherwise). I took the smaller of my two sizes.

Well done Di. Lovely to have a couple of options.

My black lace up geox have been great. I've got my eye on this lighter pair which is a testament to how well the black ones have been.

(My only word of warning is if yours have a ribbon hoop on the heel, I think it is for appearance only and i wouldn't use it to help pull on the shoe.)

Thanks Jane...point noted about the loop thingey on the back...I did wonder about that. I really like those light ones you're thinking of getting. In fact I loved lots of the Geox shoes that I saw when I was browsing. If they work out for me I may get tempted by more!
