I'm just beginning to make plans for refreshing my spring and summer wardrobe. Years on YLF have helped me hone my signature style, and I'm doing better and buying less and buying for my real life.
For those of you who don't know me, I teach private voice lessons in my home and work as a Music Therapist in the homes of people with disabilities. Most of my clothing needs to be smart casual.
I utilize about 9-10 seasonal capsules each year -- Right now, I'm prepping my "Hope of Spring" (also called Early Spring), and I'm purchasing for Warm Spring/Early Summer.
Going in and out of A/C all day (Car to House to Car to House) means that I rarely wear a coat in winter (I do keep the coat, boots and gloves in my car for safety). In Summer, I really like a lightweight third piece --- a cardi or jacket. When the weather gets warm, I love a flowing sleeveless shell.
I've had great luck with tops from Loft, and I'm so happy with these! This years mixed-media shells are a conservative V-neck, which is a great neckline for me! While they are crepe in front and modal knit in back, they launder and drape very well. The back always matches the front perfectly. These will be great layering pieces, and I like prints in my first layer.
I've added a great V-neck cardi that I purchased as well. This is a lovely fit for a curvy upper half -- length to lower hip, skimming, but not close-fitting. I can wear this buttoned with a cami --- I may order it in white or blue, too!
With all of these: They are very generous in sizing. I didn't size down, because I wanted a bit of a flow, but most people will want to!
