Count me in as someone who cried during the flashback scene of UP . The funny thing is that I turn towards my husband and I see him wiping away the tears as well! we both cried again when we saw the DVD for the first time.
I always fall for the tearjerker movies. We recently saw Hachi (about a dog who waits at a train station where he normally meets his owner for 10 years after the owner dies) and I was bawling just watching the preview! None of you animal lovers should watch it!
Music definitely. Especially ones that have to do with children going away or leaving. I always cry when I hear "Sunrise, Sunset" from the Fiddler on the Roof. Or" Slipping Through Your Fingers" by ABBA. Oh year Sarah MacLachlan - I used to play her cd and just sit in the bath & cry when i was younger & having a particularly bad bout of pms!
Books, check. Just seeing the cover of The Yearling makes me tear up.
I cry when my kids get their vaccinations even though they stoically bear it without a tear.
Maya, I have had many male friends over the years and my experience has been that once they marry or get into serious relationships with women, it becomes difficult for them to maintain their friendships with their platonic female friends. This has happened to me so many times! I don't take it personally anymore. I count myself lucky that I am still in touch with my best friend from college - we were friends all 4 years and were housemates our senior year. Our relationship is not as close as it once was and it never will be again but it does not in any way diminish what we had. Just remember the good times!
