I've had a lovely and restful couple of days and now I'm back in action!

Everything I took to my consignment shop two weeks ago has sold so I went this morning to pick up my cheque and ended up trading some of that cash for two colourful items to add to my wardrobe. I took the remaining amount and ordered a pair of Frye charcoal grey boots I've been stalking on eBay (my first eBay purchase!). Here's hoping they work out...

Anyway, back to the two items I traded for:

1. A lovely asymmetrical, cropped plaid purple Nygard jacket with big collar. Looking forward to wearing this with my black ponte knit sheath dress, grey wide legged trousers, black slouchy trousers, grey pencil skirt, dark jeans, etc.

2. Floral skinnies (brand: Hot Kiss). I kind of fell in love with the floral skinnies look when they first appeared (especially loved the ones that Natalie got) but didn't want to spend a lot on something that I see as pretty trendy. I saw these in the consignment shop still with the new tags on, tried them on and they fit beautifully, right down to having just the right amount of scrunch and they look great with my cobalt suede booties, my red booties and hopefully the Frye booties. I plan on pairing them with oversized sweaters for casual Fridays at work.

What do you think of these two free items? I think they will add some colour and fun to my winter wardrobe.

Speaking of winter, it arrived in full force this past weekend. Here are a few pics from my backyard. We'll have this snow (and more added to it) now until some time in March/April.
