Help need a tropical travel capsule thinking light gray, turquoise, black citron and white-some pieces from Eileen Fisher spa line any other ideas? TIA
Don't forget a wide brim hat and a great swim suit! I love your color scheme! Layers are important. I have been to several tropical locations where it's hot during the day and it cools down significantly at night. I also like light weight long sleeved items for certain locations where insects are an issue.
What will you be doing? My family is from the West Indies... They basically live in shorts and thong leather sandals. But then dinner dress is also always required, esp for resorts/beach clubs. I personally refuse to wear shorts; I stick to skirts... And prefer to look like a librarian: short sleeved white shirts, trim skirt. But I cave a lot and wear knit short sleeves. Sleeveless shirts are something people will wear, but not tank tops, interestingly enough.
Tell us more. Go easy on the black. It's usually my fallback travel neutral, but it just doesn't feel right in the tropics. Light grey and white are good neutral choices, as are aqua and citron. Maybe some coral or fushia too?
Try Quiksilver or Billybong and see what they are offering...also Free People at Nordstrom for flowy tops. ON has white and grey capris if you just want a quick in and out type...For maxi dreses in light tropical colors, Nordies, and some of the above...Sounds like fun...
When I am in the Caribbean I bring a silk or linen scarf for when you just need to get the sun off your shoulders and neck but without sweltering from too many layers. And then pull it back out if the air conditioned restaurants start to chill you. Have fun!
