Jenni - such good questions -- especially with our summer drawing to a close. Although I'd still be happy to drop a few more pounds, my weight has been pretty stable for the last year. I wouldn't object to losing a few more pounds and would like to at least tone up a bit, but I think most of what I have would remain wearable even if I dropped another five pounds. I carry weight in my waist, so additional small loss would help pants fit better at the waist without changing the hip fit TOO much.
Stag -- Good food for thought. And you're right. I don't wear skirts much these days, and I don't really wear shorts, so having a variety of summer pants is key.
Yes, these pants would be perfectly acceptable in my workplace styled with the right support act. (I wouldn't wear them to a board meeting, but for an average summer workday, not an issue.)
I appreciate the suggestion but a cropped top would be a big no with these pants -- for me at least. Probably a different story for a gal with a tighter midsection. I'll stick to a semi tuck for now.
Thanks xtabay, mirjana and nadya!
Sal -- I think I overbought this year for a couple of reasons -- One, I lived in the same three pairs of pants for the past three or four summers, and I was SO bloody excited to have some options. Two, I found colours that are often NOT available, or that I've struggled to find in the right combination of fit, fabric, flattery and, well, cost -- toffee, dark brown, and now this incredible orange. linen. I can now easily dress for a wide variety of summer occasions, so provided everything continues to fit, I can see not really needing to add any pants next year.
