Alana you are overthinking this! Both scarves look fine, and whatever jewlery you like will be fine too. You family is interested in having you and your killer smile/personality there; they won't care about the rest!

Thanks Museumgal--you are right, of course.
It has been 100 years since I have worn a dress. It's about getting it "right" of course--but it is also about trying things out and seeing how it works together. I have no idea what makes me comfortable/uncomfortable--so this is just all part of the discovery process. That's in part why I titled the thread the way I did--I am trying on personas as well as clothing and seeing what different looks feel like, that's all.

And wow, if that's not an example of "over-thinking" something, I don't know what is, lol! (I do it a lot.)

Alana: You look radiant. I'm glad you found a look for the wedding that is both beautiful to look at from the outside and comfortable for you from the inside (if that makes sense, LOL).

danskogirl--thank you! Getting both right at the same time is tricksy, all right.

Thank you Marley. This will all be my husband's family--and we live a long, long way from all of them (except the bride, oddly enough.)

Beautiful! Have a great time.

I am late here, but wanted to say that i really like the final look you decided on. Have a wonderful time!

final look is terrific. Time to have fun now!

Wow, the last one is PERFECT! Love the dress with the solid orange pashmina and coordinated bib necklace! Have tons of fun, YLF, Alana! Glad you sorted things with the new shawl! The black cascade cardi was really too much(long) and dragging you down!

Momo, Glory and Lyn67--thank you so much! Your kind words help build my confidence.

Chiming in to say that I too love the last version lots. You look radiant, and I hope you have a really terrific time! (Or is it already past?)

Thank you amiable. No, it happens in afew weeks--but we will be travelling before that with no access to the computer to you guys to figure this out.
I am grateful to have it sorted so quickly.

I am weighing in late. I just wanted to add that I love this dress on you. I don't think you are over thinking this though. Weddings bring out a certain anxiety. You want to look your absolute best and that is hard to do for people that don't have a lot of experience dressing up. (I'm speaking of me).

Now that everything is settled, enjoy yourself at the wedding.

Sterling--thanks for understanding! It may be years before I have the chance to attend another wedding--we are a long way from our families.

Love the final look! I sincerely hope you have a ball and it was fun to watch the iterative process. You rock that color scheme.

Also love the Mr. Dressup call-out. While my younger sister was a Polka Dot Door fan, I thought The Friendly Giant was the very best of the lot.

Kat--thank you!
OMG! I conflated Mr. Dress-up and The Friendly Giant! Finnegan and Rusty (...and I'll call Rusty...) were on TFG! I can't believe I did that. I preferred TFG, too.

Shopping with your daughter for the win!! You look amazing!! So fresh, cool, and pretty. It's the perfect outfit for the occasion.

Alana, you have great style instincts. As well as brilliant manners.

Thank you, Suz. We had a lot of fun.
I never, ever thought coral or orange would be my go to colour, but there it is!

You guys are fab!

Casey and Finnegan were on Mr. Dressup, and Rusty the rooster and Jerome Giraffe were on the Friendly Giant. Look up....look waaaaaaay up! Haha.

Love your final outfit, it is super.

Yes, yes, yes, now the dress/scarf/necklace combo is perfect! You look gorgeous, girlfriend!

More love for your final outfit. Orange is a wonderful color on you! Have a great time.

Late - but chiming in, too. Alana, your final look is lovely! So flattering, and perfect for a summertime family wedding. Also, your smile shows that you feel comfortable in it, and that's the best! Brava.

Ceit--you know, I knew I should have taken a minute to google! Thanks for setting the record straight.
Karie-- you think it's ok? (lol) thanks for the enthusiasm.
Joy-- Who knew I looked good in orange? I sure didn't.
BethL --thank you so much.
