Hi Ladies,

I've got this Skagen silver watch (photo 1) that my lovely husband let me choose for my birthday which I love for work and for going out and at the moment I wear it every day.

But I would love to inject a bit of colour and edge into my casual MOTG look with something a little different. I've been looking for a while now both in real shops (nothing exciting there boo) and online. I bat for team silver and wear a lot of cool tones and my favourite colour is purple so I've been leaning towards a purple watch.

is the first one that is really speaking to me - a little quirky and those silver studs.

But I am also a little struck by this one

the texture of the band and especially how it looks on the model wrist.

Any thoughts. I am wondering if the snake-print style band might clash more with pattered dresses and things?

I LOVE your watch that you got for your birthday! I also loves the ones you've picked out from Amazon. My favorite is the first one, I would love to have that one!! The second one is nice, too and I don't think that the snake print would clash with things.

How about something more over sized and masculine? That will make a nice change to your pretty and feminine Skagen :). That way you can mix things up.

Oooh...Thanks Angie! Now you're taking me out of my comfort zone... Which is probably a good thing LOL. I'll have to think about that. Something still in silver maybe but more masculine. Homework for me - check out over-sized/masculine watches.

Your birthday watch is pretty and classy. The first one is my favorite of the two. But I also like Angie's suggestion of going with something oversized and masculine- preferably gold to shake things up a bit.

I'm biased but, I like the Fossil :0 from Shipskitty

I'm firmly on team silver so while I do like the idea of shaking things up with a more masculine style it won't be a gold one at this stage. I guess an all-silver one will be more flexible too so I can swap one out for the other to change up the look.

How funny, I feel the same way about silver! I have been absolutely devoted to my dainty silver Fossil watch that hubby bought me for years. Everytime I see somewhere with a snazzy masculine goldtome watch I tell myself that one of these days I'll get one, too.

If you like purple, I'd say get one of the Fossil purple metal watches. I think they are very well styled and priced. Purple is a really hot colour now, so buy it while you can!

Thanks so much for all your thoughts and suggestions ladies. I don't know why I didn't think of looking at boyfriend watches before but I guess we get into a rut sometimes and get blinkers. I so appreciate your input and ideas and I'm excited to get my new watch and try it out.

After much thought I've ordered this one from Fossil. I did like some of the purple ones you ladies found for me but I'm thinking this one will be more flexible and will get more wear.

Now I just have to wait impatiently for it to arrive (is it here yet?) LOL
