This week: B & W to work

I only took a couple of pics this week, but I have been enjoying the ease of choosing B & W only.

#1. New dress bought online by European label Kortas, inspired by a Victoria Beckham dress. It's a simple swing dress, 60s style. Worn with wooden bird pin and simple T-strap heels from CR.

#2. Wrap blouse I made from a Vogue designer pattern about 15 years ago. I had time to sew back then. Worn with Metalicus skirt and studded sandals. I chose a third item, as Lisa suggested, to finish the look. I chose a heavy Mimco choker with silver and turquoise..

I love the dress with the pin. This would look great with short boots also, although I guess you are entering summer. Very interesting white blouse too - looks timeless.

Two nice looks. The first feels a smidge simpler than what I was thinking of your style direction, although with the exposed skin it certainly still has the graphic vibe of black and white even without any white in the garments; the dress is just a little more conventionally mod. I think that outfit needs an additional arty element, something funkier than the pin (which is more quirky). The second outfit jives really well with what I was picturing of where you're headed. VERY cool blouse, architecturally interesting without being overly complex.

You have me thinking Aida and Shevia......maybe I should try some white boots with the dress. I have a pair of simple high shaft peep toe booties that might look more interesting.

I love both outfits. I kind of feel like I'd love to see some funkier shoes with #1 though. I adore the cool 60's vibe I get from the dress but the sandals seem a bit 'light' for it, if you see what I mean.

I'm going to try the white boots and see how they go. I probably need to get a bit more courageous with my footwear/accessories when I wear a very simple dress.

I love #2 best. I find the detail of the blouse is a juxtaposition to the simplicity of the B&W color option. Two great outfits. I am envious of those who can wear that shape of dress well. I think it will look really good with the white boots you described too.

#2 seems to really fit with your new style direction. You're very clever to sew a blouse like that, those interesting lines and details are beyond my skills! Sounds like it's rather freeing just to have B&W, I imagine more of your wardrobe can work together easily.
