Thinking of graphic tees... - YouLookFab Forum

After I wore my graphic coral tee a few days ago and today I have on my cat tee...I was thinking that there is probably room in my life for perhaps a couple more graphic tees. I like the idea of occasionally dressing them up and I also like to pop one on at the weekend during the Summer with some jeans or shorts if it's really hot.

I like a graphic tee that is pretty tasteful. I'm not keen on a lot of words or a catchphrase or a designers logo so I went in search of some and collected a few Finds. I also collected a couple of non graphic, but patterned which looked possible too.

I can't collect from Zalando UK, so I have links and photos for these too. The final photo is from Topshop and although its does have words they are a bit more subtle in colourway? This last Topshop one might be strictly for casual weekend wear.

Thoughts? Oh, and I also want to know if you think they are age appropriate for a 51 year old

That's definitely a nice collection of tees! I know what you mean about having to look a little harder for ones without cheesy-looking logos or slogans.

I especially like the "let the sun shine in" tee, the gold "shine" one (so maybe I just like shiny things?), and the pinkish Next one.

Super collection. Absolutely age-appropriate. I like them all Diane, and am particularly partial to the coral zebra print and the baroque pattern.

These are great Diane. And I think you look rather cute in a graphic tshirt! I love the Mango baroque print and the zebra print....very chic and cool. They'll look great with shorts and a pair of boyfriend jeans. I say go for it!

PS: Nothing about you is ever not age-appropriate. I know you can look amazing in tshirts, like you did with your culottes.

I love graphic tees! I have one from H&M that's similar to the Mango one. I also just bought one at Old Navy (where I work) that says "HERE FOR THE FUN". I wore it to work. I have a Pride and Prejudice shirt from http://www.outofprintclothing.com, and I've had my eye on several from http://www.litographs.com. I like concert tees, too; I have a Police and Go-go's one. I am 48. I avoid ones with flirty sayings, cartoons, and things about selfies or hashtags. But that's just because they're not my style. I recently got a cool octopus one from http://www.jcrewfactory.com; they have a number of nice ones there. I looked on pinterest not long ago, and found a lot of ideas about how to style graphic tees. I especially like them in summer, when it's too hot to layer. They add punch to an outfit, and don't need much accessorizing. I also love pattern mixing, and it's fun to wear a floral graphic tee with a striped skirt, and a wordy tee with floral skirt.

So I ordered some to try.... I have ordered the first and third Mango ones on the top row, the zebra print one and the pale grey with coraly/pink flowers. I might do a K/R post once they arrive

I might also try the Topshop olive one as I love the idea of wearing it with white and red. Thanks for the enabling all!

I like the idea if graphic T's, too, though j don't havd any now.
I like non- phrase ones best bug might do a " word".
Would still focus on killer fit, so for me lots don't make the cut; fit keeps it from looking like "here's what I got on my trip T".
I likd the idea of mixing with polished pieces or very stylish pieces, not sloppy. Juxtaposing, I guess. And also RATE or rocker-chic for the right types. Jeans work of course, and shorts work but differently. For me I sometimes need a more upscale knit with shorts to get the look I want, if going out. But YMMV. This is all more about a specific style persona or outfit goal than just having fun with T shirts, so it wouldn't have to be that serious!

These are all great tees. I want the last one in your finds, grey fading into black or the white/blue version. The design looks like it would visually enhance the bust and diminish the midriff with the light color on top and dark below.
