Thinking about NAS

I will be in States for vacation July 6-14 and have started wondering about the NAS. I have never bought anything from it before as having it shipped to Canada adds considerably to the original price plus I am never sure if the item will fit me and I will have to ship it back.
THis year, I want to invest in one or two good quality items from Nordstorm. Does any of you know when exactly will the sale start? If it is after my trip, can I still choose the items in the store and have it shipped to me during the sale week? Any advice or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Do we have to have a Nordstorm card in order to pre-purchase?

Hi Mona,

I am in a similar situation as you. I will be making a trip to the US in July and want to plan it around NAS.

I think you need the Nordstrom card to pre-purchase, maybe a week or so before? If I recall there is an old thread that discusses this aspect.

I will be watching here for more info.

abc, I actually have my dates set so it will be hard to me to change them now. I should have thought about it sooner. OH Darn!!!!
Anyways, it is nice to know that you are thinking the same thing. Hopefully, we will be able to scoop up something nice from the sale

Sign up for the Fashion Rewards program and you can shop early. I'm not sure if they will let you leave with the merch, however. Maybe someone else can chime in about that. Whenever I pre-shop a Nordstrom sale, they keep my purchases until the day the sale officially opens, at which time I can pick up my things. Hopefully that's not the case with NAS!!

Hmm that might pose a problem for me. I go to the US for business about once a month but my trips are usually only 4-5 days duration. Checking the dates, it looks like the presale is July 10-18 and the actual sale is the 18th of July through August 4th. I do have the Nordstrom card, so I guess I could time it to do the later end of the presale but I would worry the selection could be picked over. Anyone have input on that?

Did I read somewhere you can order online and ship to store? How does that work, do you also have to wait to take items with you until the 19th?

Mona, do you mind sharing your ttrip dates or at least telling us how they line up with the sale dates? I hope you will be able to take advantage.

Probably your best bet is to call the Nordstrom location where you'll be shopping. They have excellent customer service and can hopefully answer all your questions.

Yes, Mona, where will you be shopping? Perhaps if you have to leave your items, they can be picked up and mailed by some trustworthy YLFer.

In my world NAS = Nikon Acquisition Syndrome, an illness where all available funds go into more camera equipment. I have to consciously remember it isn't Nordstrom Acquisition Syndrome, lol, although it could be for me if not careful.

Mona, last year you could buy stuff and take it home with you during pre-sale - but you do need to get Nordstrom card for this. Actually you can get it in the store when you come to pre-sale - this is what they did for me. Looks like you are right there for the pre-sale start - go on the first day. It will be fun but be ready to spend a good portion of the day there - I always do.

abc, I am planning to go to NYC and Washington from July 8-12. Pre-sale starts on 10th. I guess I will try on different items and have them put on hold for me during pre-sale.
