Hi,

Angie's post on 70s mom on the go is right up my alley style wise.

So I'm pondering clogs. In the past, my foot has slipped around off the back of the shoe and they flop a lot (like flip flops) which cause them to get caught on my jeans.

Others had this concern in the post.

Here are my questions?
-Do the new styles still flop?
-Do you wear these with bootcuts or skinnies?
-Do you wear these with socks?

I love the Ugg Gwyneth and have been eyeing those for some time. I think that as long as the clogs fit well and go back far enough on your foot, it shouldn't slip. I haven't had any problems with that. I would wear them with wider bottomed jeans, probably not skinnies.

My first reaction to clogs is not positive. I think it stems from the battle I had with my mom in eighth grade to get a pair of them because ALL the girls in school had them and I wanted to be cool so badly, and why can't I ever get anything that's cool, and ahhhhhh! Trauma.

Deep breath. Back to the present day. My issues with clogs now are: 1) the clunk factor, both visually and the heavy wood sound some of them produce, 2) the slipping off the feet factor. I have a few pairs of mules that I find it way too easy to walk out of. I have narrow feet, so it's especially hard to find backless shoes that don't fall off my feet.

If you find some that stay on, are comfortable, and work with your outfits, I say go for it! I'll probably pass in this particular trend, but I give props to anyone who can work a trend successfully!

I love clogs, but because of the slip factor only wear ones with a back.

No real comment on clogs in general but wanted to say the Kork Ease brand is fantastic. It's the original cork clogs ... this new incarnation with the wood is fun but I'm a huge fan of their cork wedges.

Love Kork-Ease and I have those same Uggs on my list. I had a VERY similar pair with that little fringe detail back in the real 70's that I adored.

You would totally rock clogs, Lisa.

Yes, you can wear them with socks, WITH bootcuts or flares - perhaps with skinnies and straight legs too, but sans the socks.

You need to experiment with styles - so order in a few and start the process. You also need to get used to wearing them.

I think that this is going to be a GREAT look for you. Can you tell how excited I am?!!

I love clogs. I own three pairs. None of them slip. Two are Borns (fairly high heel, I'm guessing 2 to 2 1/2") and one pair of Naturalizers, which I think are maybe 1 to 11/2". Not high at all. Those do a slight flip-flop action.

I wear mine with half socks when I want a bare look, otherwise just regular socks. (I do not wear closed toe shoes without some sort of sock.) I wear them with flairs, straight legs and skinnies.

Of your selections, I prefer both of the UGGs to the others.

I have several clogs, some high platforms, and none of them slip. I do have high arches and instep so perhaps that's what helps keep them tight on my feet? I wear mine with bootcuts and straight legs, but not skinnies. That's a tad too clunky for me. I have Michael Kors, Aerosoles, Mia, and I can't remember the others off hand lol!

Thanks everybody! Looks like I have some clog homework! Now how to do that while SYC? Hmm,.. Hey well it could take as long as SYC is running to find a pair anyway.
