Sara, yes -- I am so sorry. You (and TraceyLiz) did reply to my first thread. I had to remove it because the photos came out so tiny. These ones are darker but at least larger.
I agree this jacket is a bit longer than is best on me. It's not longer than my Reiss or my Elie Tahari suit jacket but the cuts on those are different -- the Reiss nips in at the waist and the Tahari has a nice princess line, so both of those work a bit better on me. Plus I tend to wear the Reiss as a column of colour most of the time, and the Tahari with faded denim (if not as a suit) which sort of blends with the taupe. This helps to lengthen my shorter leg line.
Thanks so much for all the input everyone. I think it would look great with flares, too, although if you saw my weather today (SNOW!!) you would know why I hesitate on that!
I agree also it will look better with a top other than a turtleneck, although that is sort of interesting since I do love to wear turtlenecks with jackets (and need them often in winter).
Tex, you are so right about the lighting. I'll fiddle with the DSLR tomorrow and see if I can get better pics.
Angie, thank you -- that's just it. I'm trying to imagine outfits and apart from the super obvious I am coming up blank. I'll do the homework this weekend.
Diana, I think you're seeing what I'm seeing and Sara saw. It's not quite the right length perhaps.
C1, thank you. And you're right that switching up the t-neck would make it seem more feminine.
Joyce, I agree it would be great to see that colour in winter. I must confess I love it in my closet!
Kimberley, thank you!
Janet, Joy, thank you. I'm going to play a bit and see how I feel.
Mirjana, I hear you. The cuff intrudes and seems more casual than the jacket. This was not styled intentionally -- I just put it on over what I happened to be wearing. But I would want to wear it casually as that is my lifestyle.
