Great! I just decided to give this coat a try the other day and ordered it in 4P and 6P. The 6P has shipped but the 4P hadn't and I was hoping it wouldn't go out of stock!
My question about this coat was whether it was worth breaking my "no black winter coats" rule. I see lots of others saying, "I'd have bought this if it weren't black." Can you say more about why that's the case for you?
Is that was true for you is it because you not need another black coat, or because you have a pet with white hair, or what?
April -- I wasn't considering buying this coat, but I wanted to comment on the "not buying a black coat." At this point, I have several black coats of different weights. I really don't need another black coat. So when I buy another coat, I will be looking for something strikingly different (bright color). Even a navy would be passed over because it would read more of the same in my mind.
April, I've learned that black coats don't make me happy - it's that simple. I had a black trench coat - gave it away. My beautiful Rudsack is orphaned because it's black (just wrote a post about that, actually). I WISH my stunning Soia & Kyo knee-length puffer wasn't black.
My navy coats - although dark - make me VERY happy. And of course, my bright and white coats are favourites. Now I'm looking for a pastel or earthy wool coat. Come on J.Crew....
Reporting in: I'm keeping the 6P and returning the 4P.
Tried both sizes with a waterfall cardi, as a "worst case scenario" of wearing a sweater with a lot of volume in front. 4P felt fine, until I sat down and felt like I was smushed inside a sausage casing. That did it. Roomy is better when it comes to coats!
Thanks for the recommendation Angie. I love military style coats and this one is a winner!
