Rae, I was surprised when others said that these shoes didn't go with your style - to me, they do. I think the outfit you posted here an example has great UWP elements - the denim jacket, the "ruggedness" of having the short jacket sleeves turned up and layering a henley underneath. And your rock preppier items like collared button-down shirts beautifully with more UWP items.

I like the 2nd pair of shoes best here. You might also look for pewter - I'm a fan of pewter/bronze over silver/gold because it's not so much like "Hey, look at me, I'm shiny!" For my personal style, I'm more after sheen than shine, if that makes sense, and you might find that the same thing works with the UWP style that you've got going on.

Thanks for your input, Kari! The pewter/bronze point is a good one - I wonder if what I saw in person was in fact pewter and I only assumed it was silver? Hm, I wonder...
