I would.

It's all about figure flattery for me, so I instantly saw how that huge bib and puffy sleeves would balance out my hips nicely. The buttoning would make going to the loo impossible, so I'd have to watch what I drink and eat - perfect to get my summer figure in shape. I even like the fabrics suggested - the soft florals and pastels would add a nice novelty to my wardrobe. And look, you can actually make them as long as you needed - what's not to like.

80s right? Just hilarious. I don't recall the bloomers very well but I do remember the drop waists and the big, big bib collars. Plus all of the Laura Ashley inspired pastel prints. You needed the big hair back then to balance all of the other bigness going on below the neck.

Ha, I don't think I had a romper but I did have a dress like this, complete with drop waist and bubble skirt. Oh, and giant polka dotted Minnie mouse bows down the front.

Diana, I fear I had the fraternal twin of your dress. It was a drop-waisted black and red kameez. The bows had ghungroos (miniature dancer's bells) attached. On a black yoke.

Not a stellar fashion moment from the 80s, I'm thinking. But I'm with Bagaline in wondering what will be making people shake their heads in 2043 when they look at our 2013 fashionable outfits? Huge platform stilletos with spikes? Enormous plastic "statement" necklaces? Half-tucks on everything? Crazy pattern matching? Giant handbags embellished with metal, tassels, and logos?

Oh yes, I remember those. I called them "clown suits". My cousin and her young daughter even had matching ones. *shudder*

This was a fashion craze that I truly never understood. At all. And if you happened to catch a comment I made in a recent thread, you will know I was rather fond of the Flashdance look. So it's not like I'm easy to scare or anything.

Oh....I actually remember seeing this pattern in the pattern books in Neuwelt's Fabrics, probably in high school. I had a dress that was a little like this --- but I found this was too "out there" even for my Priness-Diana-loving self. Heck, that collar is like a napkin at a lobsterfest!

Oh goodness. I had a dress back in the 80's that had a top/collar like that. Lace and crochet monstrosity....and the fabric was big purple and green flowers. I actually wore it to work!

Gaylene, my money is on bib necklaces, boyfriends and spiked toes worn with hectic pattern mixing.
