I think your rationale is correct, you know you will find the occassion to wear the dress and there is little harm in being prepared. I think it is Rachel Zoe who recommends buying these items in advance, she even goes so far as to hanging the right hose with the dress so you know you can be ready at a moments notice.
to my eye the dress is the perfect blend of va va voom and laylike elegance.
Thanks for all of your insights and kind words, everyone.
modgrl, it's been a while since I tried a Nicole Miller dress. I'm not absolutely certain it's going to fit just right...but if I love it enough I have a great seamstress who's never let me down!
Rae, I LOVE that dress. It so suits your rocker style.
Rose and Joan, that's what I thought about this dress, too. It's not overly va va voom...but it's still special and sexy.
Oh, that dress is gorgeous! The cut looks really flattering and the color is beautiful. I hope it works out for you Nancy.
I totally agree with having a knockout dress (or two) at the ready. I have a special occasion knockout dress, but it's not for the typical special occasion. More for avant garde, alternative affairs. Don't have any decent photos of me in it though.
