Trench coat- i have tried on loads in the last few months and this is the 1st one not to be too tight around the arm holes

PS won't be wearing the denim jacket with jeans purely for trying on purposes

Wow Lou Lou, you have such a tiny waist, I like the colour and length of the denim jacket. I can't believe it has taken 10 years to find one.

The trench coat looks a little like dress, it is very retro and I would wear it in a heartbeat.

ps I knew you would not wear denim with denim.

The trench is beautiful on you! It's absolutely perfect for your pretty pear body and tiny waist. I love the fullness of the skirt. The denim jacket is perfect too (I assume you'll be wearing it with a longer top underneath right?).

It looks to me like the denim jacket gapes a bit between the buttons when it is closed - I would be worried about that if you were going to wear it over heavier tops or sweaters, but if you'll wear it over dresses it's probably ok. Unbuttoned it looks GREAT on you.

The trench is fantastic, and looks excellent on you.

The denim jacket has a great shape to the waist and accentuates your tiny one. I love this on you!
The trench is beautiful. It took me awaile to get used to the fullness of the skirt. I started to type all the reasons that I am not used to the trench with this shape and then I realized it looks great on you and why would we want all trenches to be the same. I just bought my first trench this year and it is a very safe style. You rock this style with the fuller skirt.
I say you did very well on your coat purchases. Did you keep the leather jacket you had tried?

Both fit you so well. Last winter or spring The Sartorialist had a photo of two young women in Italy, I think, wearing the style of trench you have with the fuller skirt. Gorgeous! I've been wanting one ever since but it probably wouldn't be the right style for a rectangle. Enjoy yours

San yes i did keep the leather jacket just waiting for cooler weather so i can wear it.
It took me a while to get used to the fuller skirt i tried it on 6 times in the shop and wondered around in it i must have looked a right loon good job i'd got my mad best friend with me!
Just hope they get an Angie thumbs up when she gets back! x

I'll be very honest..
Love the denin jacket, it fits you like a glove, so flattering, but I would prefer a darker denin.
The trench coat is lovely, it's a must in every woman's closet, but I would prefer one not so fuller on the bottom, still a A line but not so fuller.

I'm with Rute. The cut of the demin jacket is great but I'm distracted by the fading on it. Now, you are our early adopter of trends so perhaps this wash will be spot on and fashion forward. But for me, I'd keep looking for one without fading.

The trench coat is beautiful. I do wonder what you plan to wear with it. If you're reserving it for pants, I think it's great. But you've got loads of skirts and dresses and I have a question mark about how it would work with those. What do you think?

LOVE the trench on you Loulou!! Beautiful! The fit of the denim jacket is awesome but like Alecia I'm a proponent of darker washes, somehow seems smarter than the distressed or faded washes.

I love the denim jacket. How on earth did you find one that is fitted in the waist? They are always cut so boxy. I'd love to know where it is from...

I also like the trench, but the fullness of the skirt (which I didn't notice until reading the other comments) could make it too formal for daytime/non-dressy use. Just a thought?

Kristina the jacket is a Miss Sixty one which i picked up for £15 at TK MAXX was rather chuffed as it was originally £75!
Looks like mixed bag of opinions on the coats good job Angie's back soon x

I have the exact opposite opinion actually. I think this trench would work great with full skirts, dresses but I am not sure how it would work with pants.

I think your trench coat will look wonderful over leggings and black skinny trousers. In my opinion it may be difficult with a skirt to have the rights amount of hem and shape of skirt to work.

However for the price you have paid, even if you only have a limited number of outfits to pair it with, it will still be tremendous cost per wear.

I must head to TK Maxx soon I need some budget busting basics to start rebuilding my wardrobe.

I have seen women in NYC wear those fullish trenches for a while now. I think they look equally good with pants as with skirts and dresses. The only thing I'm not so keen on is wide leg pants. Too much volume. But straight legs, bootcuts, and skinnies all look fab. It will also look beautiful with leggings.

Yours is a bit shorter though. The ones I have seen come to the knee, so they cover the dresses completely. Can you take a picture of it over a dress perhaps? I still lean strongly towards keeping it since it will still look great with everything else, and you surely have lots of other jackets you can wear with skirts and dresses (or at least this denim jacket).
