I think the pattern on this dress is beautiful and is gorgeous on you. But as AG girl said, you do have to be comfortable with the neckline. If you won't enjoy wearing it then there's no point. But I hope you do keep it and I have a feeling DH hopes you keep it too!

And I am SO easily confused!! :/

Angie, I found another one on Asos so will be able to see if the lining is a defect of some sort.

I do have a question for you though - what are your thoughts on a cami underneath? I suspect Suz is probably right about it inteferring with the vibe of the dress.

Pil, you are going to get mixed views on this one because of the placement of the knot. I adore it and think it is much more modern than a higher placement would be -- and happens to work brilliantly for your figure. But it's a different silhouette.

The only issue is that neckline. If you feel exposed, I really like Diana's idea of fashion tape (assuming the lining issue is addressed). I don't know about you, but if things stay put I feel a lot less flashy, so to speak. It's not the visible skin so much as the threat of more.

Wow! I haven't read all of the other posts but wanted to chime in and add that you are a knock out in this dress. The shape and style is amazing on you. I love it. I hope you can get the lining to behave because it is gorgeous on you! LOVE!

It's gorgeous on you! Fingers crossed that the lining on the ASOS one behaves.

Ok, I'm really late to this, but I'm just seeing it for the first time. At first glance I thought the knot sat too low, but I'm not so sure of that after all. It's just not that empire knot we're so used to seeing...and I kind of love that about it! I think it looks really gorgeous on you, actually. If you're comfortable in it and can get the lining to behave, I'm a yay.

Thanks! Yes, fingers crossed.

i just wore it around for a bit and the neckline doesn't *feel* like anyone is going to get an unexpected eyeful. Part of it may be the perspective of the photos - my husband is 6' to my 5'4".

I think it's worth giving the small shoulder pads a try, as Firecracker recommended. They should raise it just a bit, helping to smooth the lining and giving just a little more coverage at the bust.

Just to add, I have tried a couple of dresses in store that have a fabrication and neckline like this where the lining seems to roll outward like it needs a second line of stitching. Ted Baker is too pricey for that!

No cami. Love the pumps you're wearing with the frock. Try fashion tape under the facing too. xo
