So much great information thanks everyone! Keep the conversation going...! .I'm definitely going to order some things in a few weeks. Will study the measurement charts etc and look for free returns etc. I almost always order multiple sizs whenever I order clothing online so no big deal there.

I love Boden, I think their stuff is so cute. I tend to especially like their dresses (but then I'm into dresses) and their coats.

NEVER pay full price at Boden, you can always find their stuff on sale or get a discount coupon. The sale section on their website is abundant right now, and if you sign up for their mailing list, you'll get emails about their sales which unlike some of my other favorite online shops are often 40% off.

I'm including a few finds I'm interested in this season. I don't need more dresses, so I'm not planning to purchase any of these, although I'll be very tempted when the color block one goes on sale. I absolutely love those pumps, but I really don't wear heels at all anymore, so I hope someone else will get them! I'm considering the dotted flats, though, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the grey sweater – click on it and check out the back! – especially since the Anthro pleated sweater I was so excited about that was back-ordered is now completely out of stock and they say it's not likely to come in.

I've really enjoyed reading this post and the comments.

I really like Borden for jeans (good value, wash well, lots of different colours and cuts on offer). I also like them for some tops.

But most exciting (for me!) is that their first retail shop opens in central London near Sloane Sq shortly. And it is just below the office where I work. Yay!

Agree with inconsistent sizing, but the quality is very good. I have never purchased any bottoms. I have found their tops to run a bit narrow for my shoulder line. I have the same dress as delurked, which I found true to size.

DELURKED-
I have found the size charts and garment measurements to be accurate predictions of fit. I wear a US 12L in Boden. The Phoebe desss in Long definitely has a waist close to my natural long-torsoed waist . That has not been true of other Boden dresses, some of which I have kept anyway since the total length was right and I loved the material, color or print. I can't speak to shoulder issues.

The one thing I've found about the sizing is that getting the right fit in their dresses can be a little tricky as a petite (and their dresses are generally what I like most of their collection). The waistline of their petites often hits me above the waist, and since I'm already slightly short-waisted, that is not a good look! The waistline of their regular size hits me perfectly, but then the skirt tends to be too long and/or voluminous. But that issue may just be particular to my size and proportions. And, I have a number of their dresses that have worked perfectly. (If we're still having this conversation next month, I'll post some photos when I pull out my fall clothes.)

I'm a long-time Boden fan. Typically order 2-3 times/year. Curvy hourglass, and have ordered over multiple sizes as my weight changes.

Overall: High quality, long lasting clothes. Their kids line is outstanding - my kids wore from ages 2 - 15. Great customer service, fast shipping and easy returns.

I tend to focus on them for casual wear - dresses, skirts, sweaters and tops. I'm doing a closet audit right now, and have ~8 pieces from them. For me, their pants are hit and miss - often cut too straight for me. Also, if you are large-busted, watch the V-necks as they can be too low.

For the price/value, I prefer Boden to JCrew, BR or GAP.

ETA: I LOVE these sneakers - have been stopped on the street asking where I got them - and they are on SALE!!!

I adore Boden for their styles, but I did have some quality issues, so I feel like an exception in this thread. I got a beautiful, stretch-jersey printed dress (they always have many versions of those) several years ago, and the colors faded so visibly even after the first wash that it completely lost its brightness and began to look frumpy. And I follow all the wash instructions!

I also had three wool sweaters that pilled like crazy from the start. I like to hang on to my clothes for more than one season, so that was disappointing. I gave away two of the sweaters after four winters of light wear; I kept a beloved, comfy striped one, and I try to trim the pilling, but it is only for loungewear now...

This has kept me from buying there more often, so maybe the quality is better now (or I just got duds?).

I'm an XS or XXS in J.Crew and I find that while the Boden 2 is the best size for me, it runs smaller and tighter than I would like.

As for children's clothing, MiniBoden is simply wonderful and has no such quality issues. My 6 yr old daughter has way more Boden pieces than I do! Their pieces are sized to last more than a season, and the colors and fabrics wear and wash really well. I get her new pieces every year. (I once even tried ordering a t-shirt in size 16 for me, since I'm petite, but the arms and neckhole were too small).

Gretchen, I love those sneakers. Sad my size is sold out.

My baby sister shops Boden all the time, and raves about the quality, the cuteness, and the amazing customer service. They have given her price adjustments when the price drops a week after she buys it, they have shipped her an item from England after it popped up as sold out in the US after she completed an online purchase, and I think she said they comped the shipping and sent an additional coupon for her next purchase.

And the dresses, tops and shoes she finds are CUTE.

I check Boden every so often, but it's mostly a little too preppy for me. Or not suited to my everyday lifestyle. Or sold out in my size.

I'm so glad you asked this.

I ordered from Boden for the first time in the spring, and have been very happy with my purchases. I ordered styles that didn't need a super accurate fit, just in case. I went with the size charts, and got mediums in both of these... I generally take a medium or large in sweaters. So I'd say in the mid range, they are TTS.

But the cool thing - because of this thread I've been clicking on their site, and see they are now offering free shipping to Canada! On orders over $165, but still. Considering we couldn't get their stuff at all a year ago, this is great progress!
