I’d forgotten about the toiletry bags. They are awesome, unless you travel with all carry-ons. The bags are made to organize full-sized bottles. Even the smallest (last time I checked, which was a while ago) doesn’t have any way to wrangle unruly little bottles small enough to fly with.

Children’s school backpacks and lunch bags. I purchased one of each for each of my children, and they lasted through college and beyond! They are built to last.

I haven't bought anything from them, that I can think of, but would be worth a check for camping stuff especially.

Ok I'm legitimately excited about this store now lol ... Is there anything they don't carry?? Will check out jammies and definitely the sales. Thanks all, I will let you know if I have any success!

Shevia, they do a live stream

The LLBean items I have bought for the family have excellent quality.
Just in case this helps, they offer 10% discount for students, maybe in your DD’s name? They offer 15% discount for healthcare professionals.

I'm not sure I have purchased anything from them but wouldn't hesitate based on quality. I like that they have a lot of petites and always check them out for coats and other outerwear but nothing has enticed me enough to purchase so far.

Their products are usually well made and will last forever. They rate their costs by how warm they’ll keep you and believe me, they will keep you warm! I have two Bean winter coats and I love them, and a pair of Bean snow boots that are indestructible. Their products are worth the money.

I bought my orange parka from the LL Bean in Vermont, maybe the same one Bernie Sanders shops in. That was several years ago, and the parka is still going strong. It is supposed to be their warmest coat. Of course, I freeze in it, but I freeze in everything. My Lole and Lululemon parkas are warmer. However, I love the colour, and it is actually reasonably flattering for a parka.
I find the Canadian prices ridiculous.

I find their fits a bit conservative for my taste. I have a pair of tech-y pants I love for summer camping though. Other than those, we are diehard fans for their flannel sheets - yum! And I’ve definitely decided to grab one of their flannel robes for this winter. My daughter’s fleece robe is gorgeous quality, as is the cute plaid, fleece-lined hoodie thing.

I was so disappointed with the in-store experience in Oakville - not much stock. Hope the one you’re headed to is much better. Report back!

Sorry I keep coming back. This store was always just sort of there in a way that makes it hard for me to remember what I have from there—it’s not in a separate category. But my 40 degree sleeping bag that I got 30 years ago is from there, and we now have a matching one that my mom got years later. They are identical, and great quality.

I have a midi suede skirt from there. Probably 40 years old.

My aviator jacket (the “flying tiger”) is from there, and there are odes to this style online. I got it when I was in grad school in the early 90s. For years, I wore it nearly daily all winter long. I just got the lining repaired; the rest is fine, with lovely patina on the shoulder where I carry a bag.

Whether the store is well stocked or not, this is absolutely a brand for you to know about.

It sounds like you have a plan, but just another vote on the quality - the items I have are going strong and I expect will last a lifetime. Yes also to what others have said about the style/ lack of style, but you will navigate that like a pro! I look forward to seeing what you will buy/ intend to buy on sale!

Oh dear Kerry ... It's the Oakville one hopefully they have upped their game!

As everyone else has said, they typically offer excellent quality and durability. I purchased flannel PJs for my kids a few years ago (their flannel was top-rated by someone--can't remember who!) and they have just gotten softer with each washing. They carry tall men's clothes, so they are great for my oldest, who is 6'5"--I have purchased wool sweaters and a heavy-duty winter coat for him and they are great.

Basically, what everyone said. Excellent quality for the most part. Generously cut, but some things will work for your slender frame regardless. Preppy, gearish, but also good essentials (something you love) and would be a fab place to shop for the kids! As others also said, you can get great totes, luggage, down throws, blankets, etc. etc. as well.

We have some canvas bags from LL Bean that are about 40 years old and still going strong. Also, some down throws. I have had a few fashion items over the years and still wear my 7 year old Bretons (and I mean, I wear these things -- multiple times a week from April to October and once every week or two through winter) and a plaid flannel shirt!

I love LL Bean. I have found that their online feature that says which store has an item in stock has not been reliable for me, so now I just call a store if there's a size I'm looking for that's not online. I've attached Finds of some LL Bean items I love. I've given the Scotch Plaid pajamas and Packaway jacket as gifts. They will do some 20% off weekends as the holidays approach. They also have great sportshirts for men (I've bought many for DH) and great children's swimwear and sleepwear.

I hope you enjoy the store and have a great time! I usually visit the flagship stores in Freeport, Maine twice a year. I have never been disappointed with the quality add their return policy is still exceptional. Do follow the suggestions to try on for sizing. I can often size down or find the petite version fits a bit better. Customer service is top notch, so if you do not see a size or color you want, ask! The reps will often check with the warehouse or other stores to see if they can locate what you want and ship it to you.
My LL Bean go to pieces are often outerwear. I have the hooded zip flannel jackets, barn coats and quilted jackets in more than one color. They machine wash and dry well and look like new even after years of wear.
I look forward to your update!
