Have to agree with CarolS. Why do we need to compare these two smart and accomplished women?

The Cat, thanks for pointing that out. I am intrigued by their style. They remind me of the wealthy, relaxed North-east style. Not a fan of the Brit royal style.

No need to compare. Kate does wear Smythe blazers which are Canadian. Her favourite seems to be the Duchess.

Like JAileen, I would like to wear one of Meaghan's coats. (The Mackage one I tried on last winter -- go Team Canada!!) But I think they both do a good job. Kate's the quintessential royal. Meaghan can afford to be more "herself" and more relaxed. It would indeed have been wonderful to see Diana's style as she aged.

Team Diplomatic Dressing!

Kate's style appeals to me more than Meghan's as I'm a more classic dresser. But I like to look to the royals (including Mathilde, Maxima and Letizia) for examples of how they change up their style for the various events they attend.

Both women are lovely, and I do marvel at how “effortlessly” Kate has appeared to pull off her “role” (it is acting, and I once wondered whether Kate was ironically a better actor than Meghan). I, too, watch for the stagecraft with no small amount of worry over what this is all doing to these women and their families.

I cannot help but sympathize with Meghan, however. The racism is extreme. Beyond that, she is an American by birth—and deference does not come naturally to us. In more neutral Commonwealth terrirtory, we should watch for her to become more colorful, literally. Just last week, she was in gleaming turquoise and tomato red. I rejoiced.

I also worry about what the impact of the life of a royal does to a person. I totally sympathize with Meaghan for wanting out. I am sure she was a victim of racism. Of course, I do not know the reason for her leaving.

I enjoy following both of them but don't find either aspirational for my own style - it just isn't a way I would dress or want to dress. They are both gorgeous though!

I enjoy following both of their styles! I think they are both excellent at dressing for their roles and aspirations - Katie is doing an excellent job as Queen-in-waiting, and Meghan wants to push boundaries and keep her appeal beyond the royal-watcher set.
