Anyone want to help me find the perfect leather jacket?

- taupe or some shade of brownish grey or greyish brown
- leather (ie not 'vegan' leather, not suede)
- fairly short but not super cropped
- understated moto styling

If you've come across anything, let me know!

Do you *really* want leather? Or would you settle for pleather? Claire got a great one at Express last year, and it looks like it's still around. But, it's definitely not leather.

I like the looks of that Hinge jacket - in fact I'm thinking of ordering it - but judging by the reviews the sleeves will be too long.

This is the one I ordered, but Angie was skeptical about the neckline on me and now when I look in the mirror all I see is a weird giraffe:

Sarah - I think I do really want leather, but the Express jacket is otherwise pretty fabulous (including the price). I am kind of hard on my clothes, and I worry how PVC will hold up - I've had a few non-leather shoes and while they looked OK new they didn't age well.

I have to second Sarah. I have nothing against leather ( I one a jacket and may buy another ). Express has been doing some amazing things with their (minus the) leather line.

I do agree with you on how it will hold up. The only issue I have with lighter leather is it getting dirty or getting pen marks on it. ( My great fear, LOL )

Nothing comes to mind off hand, but i will keep my eye out. Most of the leather jackets i come across are faux because of my price range. I will say that i've had my black faux leather jacket for 3 or 4 years now and it is still going strong! And i bought it at Target.

But i've also had things from Target fall apart fairly fast. :-/ So it could be just luck of the draw.

Hmmm. Maybe at the Express price it doesn't matter how well it will hold up?

Since we're talking $$, that Theory jacket was only in my price range because it was on sale.

I've been eyeing this Express one. They just opened a store in my city (!!!!) so I'm going to try to find time to check it out in person. Would it work for you? I like the asymmetrical aspect:
