Thanks, Gigi. I thought of that. Whatever I wear underneath is going to have to be thin, ya know? I don't need extra bulk.

How disappointing!
At least you know what shape to look for in your next non-itchy version.

True, but I'm royally bummed about this. Such a beautiful sweater!

I made a desperate attempt yesterday to make this itchy sweater work. I bought a green long-sleeved cotton turtleneck to wear under it. Voila! Problem solved. The color combo worked well, too, and the only jewelry I put with it was a pair of gold earrings. The sweater already makes a statement.

I'm glad you found a solution!

I was going to say ditto to Lily and Thistle, but if you found a way to make it work - hooray!

Pictures of your fabulous new, neutralized sweater, please

I always have luck rinsing it in a lot of hair conditioner. Had a sweater that was the thickest, warmest I had ever seen but like barbed wire. This softened it and did the trick. I think there's a lanolin wool wash that works, too but some folks are allergic to lanolin.
