I bought a sun hat for my trip. I've always worn my DH's caps because I'm not a hat person, but I broke down and bought one of those packable ones.

What rachy said ... Once summer comes at least, or on sunny days in the snow, when the reflection can give quite a burn, it's sunscreen, makeup, but then sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen ...

Serum, sunblock - Elta Md physical, wait, makeup. Plus a hat. I live with strong sun and am very prone to hyperpigmentation.

I also apply sunscreen under my foundation. If I'm going to be outside so long that I need to reapply I just forgo foundation/tinted moisturizer.

This is slightly tangential - but the weatherman was giving us here 15 min burn time warnings this week. High UV days he said. I don't know what all is going on, but I started having sunburn problems a few years ago. Including my hands because of sitting in traffic. I took to carrying baby sunblock stick and just swiping it on all the time...

Here's some general info from the skin cancer capital (Aus)
Apply to dry skin, using about 1 teaspoon for each area, ie each arm, leg, and face. It's a lot! And to reapply every 2 hours, or after swimming or sweating.

I love those sunscreen sticks ... They re great for kids' backpacks too. I can't find them locally anymore so I stock up when we are in the States.

This is a very nice product and about the only one that 1) doesn't show white on my skin and 2) doesn't make my rosacea flare up at all. That second part is kind of miraculous.
