Re: converse - I don't find them as comfy as the Airwalks from payless, which look just like converses. However, I sized up to a 6.5 in these because they were out of 6's, and I have been wearing them constantly because they are quite comfy for lots of walking.
Re: Cole Haan being sporty - the sandals I have are from 4 years ago and there's nothing sporty looking about them. They are black leather slides with "pseudo" strappy detailing, have white stictching, and a tiny silver buckle. I wouldn't call them delicate sandals though (because of the Air heel), but they are more dressy than sporty. I always get compliments when I wear them. But I keep going back each year hoping they'll come out with the same or similar style again, and no such luck.
( I suspect all they really need is a good polishing, but I don't know how you do that, without messing up the white stitching! If anyone knows, let me know - I have a pair of pumps with similar stitching that could stand a polish)
Re: knowing one's shoe width: I know I'm a medium width, however the bunion on my one foot is much better accomodated in a wide width. But wide widths are tricky because they may not fit the other foot, or be too loose the back of my foot. And sometimes (as I mentioned before) I find going up a half size works. Sometimes it doesn't. Frustrating!!!
The Sofft sandals are adorable!! I may have to try these. I do want a pair of sandals in orange or yellow.
And I really want a second pair of the Airwalks (fake converses) in a bright color, possibly red!!!
Incidentally... anyone else have trouble with european sized shoes? I can't wear them at all, doesn't matter what size. There's just something off about how they fit for me.
