I own the 1035 in navy pinstripe. That's my navy pinstripe suit jacket. I own a couple of pieces of the super 120s wool. It is great quality. Seasonless weight. Wears well. Drapes well.
So slight sidetrack because I think it speaks to the quality....In my very brief foray into semi-bespoken suits a few years ago, the salesperson (they were accustomed to selling expensive men's suits, and trying to add in women's--a foolish move ultimately because they didn't understand the women's market at all--so reaching out to women with discounted pricing) was telling me about the incredible Italian wool they used. Super exclusive. Practically no one has it, except them. Amazing stuff. On and on. Super 120s. He almost fell over when I told him that JCrew carried it and that I could get a jacket for $300, maybe less.
So I absolutely can say 100% that the quality of the super 120s wool is amazing. I've had crepe from JCrew, but it has been too many years ago for my experience to be useful as far as quality, etc.
I feel like I don't have a good idea of your shape, other than that it isn't the same as mine, so I'm probably not that great at suggesting which jacket shape. I'll leave that to Angie! I might have a helpful suggestion, though....If you aren't going to pick up a full suit, I would go with the super 120s because they always carry it. If you decide to add on a pair of pants or skirt in a year, then you'd have it available to and have some good choices. That's another reason I really like JCrew. I feel like their suiting cuts get updated slightly, but it is always there and there are always lots of choices.
