I haven't tried, but I know several people (in person, not just online) who have used/are using stitch fix. Overall it's been a positive experience for them.
The people I know who have used these services (primarily Stitch Fix and Golden Tote) are working moms with young children. They have very little personal time to shop for clothing (either online or in person). Overall they seem very pleased with the subscription box method.
I have a younger friend whom I would noticed wearing cute but polished and more g" grown up" outfits that were really flattering and when I complimented her, she said she was using Stitch Fix. Seemed to be working great!
I signed my daughter up for Stitch Fix as one of her Christmas gifts and so far she's enjoying it. She likes to shop, but can't really get out and about to do it right now, so this has been a great compromise.
I have two friends who love Stitch fix, both are really busy moms of many. One of them loves to shop, but wanted new ideas, and the other lives too far away from good stores and has little time.
A co-worker uses Stitch Fix and she always looks great. She is vey happy with them. I did read on-line somewhere, though, that you could get the clothes cheaper if you shopped for them yourself.
