Stylish "house shoes" or slippers?

We try not to wear our shoes indoors for a variety of reasons, including a still crawling baby. But my feet get cold on our hardwood floors! I have a few fuzzy slippers and socks but they look pretty ridiculous with most outfits. Since I spend the great majority of the time inside (I work from home) and am making an effort to get our of PJs and loungewear, I feel like I need some dedicated indoor shoes that are versatile and fashionable enough while still being cozy enough to wear inside. At the moment, I favor boyfriend jeans and skinnies with sweaters/tunics as my WFH uniform.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm a big fan of LL Bean's slippers. These ones are on my wish list (because they come in teal this year!!!!!). I think the loafer style will look reasonably like real shoes.

I've been wearing my LL Bean slippers, which I treated myself to last month when I moved to a colder climate and apartment with hardwood floors, nonstop & love them. I have these, and you can see them in most of my recent outfit posts if you're wondering how they look on. That being said, my style works well with cute, cosy, rustic pieces, so they might not be trendy enough for your taste. I like the ones Diane showed as a more streamlined alternative.

I have a couple of pairs of Clark's slip ons that are my go to 'house' shoes. I, too, office from home...and my feet get cold in the winter. Plus my back insists that I wear shoes on hard floors. The Clark's I wear in the house are usually only worn in the house. Well, maybe a trip out to the mailbox, but I try to not even do that.

Last year I got a pair of Steve Madden slippers that are black with silver studs. They have a furry lining so they are cozy but still have a rather sleek shape. I found them in the lingerie department.

Happy- yes, I'm afraid that if I pick "real" shoes I'll be tempted to dash out opf the house with them on since I'm typically running late and struggling to get 2 kids into their own shoes/jackets, etc. I'm usually just happy that I have shoes on at all when exiting the house...

I don't mind folks wearing regular shoes in the house, since I've lived in older homes with hardwood floors--cold and drafty! However, folks seem inclined to take off their shoes, and family seems to like to switch out to slippers or comfy shoes.

Our new house (we've been here 4 months!) is only 22 years, but it is hardwood and ceramic. During the hot weather I like the foamy flip flops, and for cooler temps, the slip on sneaks. (I'm not a fan of logos, but my first name starts with 'C'!

Me three for the LLB slippers, but I've got the fleece ones. They do have a hard sole so they're OK for going outside to pick up the mail or whatever, but they definitely have a slipper-ish look. Diana's pick is now on my wishlist; nice shoe-looking vibe.

I like Runcarla's idea of slip-on sneaks too - if you dedicated a pair to only wearing indoors they'd stay clean. I got these plaid ones from Asos earlier this fall; they'd be an inexpensive way to try out the trend.

After my week long project last week with wiw's to make an effort with my WAH/SAH lifestyle I ended up buying some proper designated house shoes. I now feel so much smarter that just wearing fuzzy house slippers which had no support. These little ballet slip-ons are just the ticket. No point in referencing them though as I'm in UK, but what I did do was to look in the clearance section of Zalando and bagged a pair half price as I didn't want to pay full price for indoor shoes.

I'm a fan of Haflinger hard soled slippers. Comfy, warm, and with enough support for my PF. Only problem is the black sole can leave marks on white vinyl floors (but they rub right off with a swipe across the mark).

Yes I could do with something too as I work from home, and often would wear boots or heels when I go out. Our home is 100 years old and a little drafty.

I want the perfect blend of style and comfort - comfort taking priority in this case. I like a rubber sole so I can make a quick dash if I need to get clothes in or something. I have problems like other fabbers with heels falling out of shoes and this is a real problem with slippers too!

I never thought of proper shoes as indoor-only. That's an interesting idea! I wear LL Bean slippers in the winter, but am thinking of trying out something else this season. I'm a slipper person. If I were to test a true shoe, I would probably try something from Vionic:

I also have designated house shoes--usually a pair of Birks and/or a ballet shoe for warm weather and a pair of leather clogs for cold weather that I wear with my Icebreaker or Smartwool socks. If we buy footwear for working outside the home, why shouldn't we have cute footwear for working IN our homes? To my mind, it's part of dressing nicely for ourselves regardless of where we work.

Ooh, i didn't know Vionic makes shoes and slippers, not just sandals...I bought a pair of their flip flops earlier this year for my warm weather in the house wear, although I have worn them outside on occasion. The aggressive arch support took some time for me to get used to but I really like them and they keep my feet and back from hurting.

i had a run in with plantar fasciitis a few years ago and since then I've really tried not to go barefoot for too long, especially if I'm standing or doing chores around the house. My LL Bean slippers are super cozy, but they're probably not as supportive as they should be for anything more than sitting.

I love my Keen slippers. I need a slipper with real support, and these have been great. I work from home and wear them all day long. They're warm, and look good enough that I don't mind wearing them when we have company. I think they might be last year's model, but if you search around you can find them in more colors.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions! I was tempted by all of the clog styles but they always seem to fall off my foot.

I ordered the LL Bean Oceanside slippers in the delicious looking teal since I do wear that color a lot, and a pair of UGG look-a-likes in gray for wearing over skinnies and leggings (not generally an UGG fan but that just means I'm less likely to try and wear them out of the house!).

I wear Birkenstock Bostons as my "house shoes," because I can wear a lovely warm sock with them if need be, or slip my scandalously naked feet in them in summer. Because they are leather, they breathe beautifully, but the cork keeps my tootsies insulated. And they slip on and off much more easily than any slipper I've ever had - which, if you're the kind of person who curls her legs under her when sitting, becomes of paramount importance

This winter, I wore ballerina style "house shoes", much like the one seen in the right window in the link provided by Enterprise. They are soft and warm, are made of a grey wool-like fabric with a "furry" inside and have real soles.

In summer, I wear Birkenstock style sandals, for the same reasons as AnnieMouse has explained so well above.

I have Birkenstocks as house shoes and DH has mahabis. See https://mahabis.com/. I'm considering mahabis for myself bc I like the clean and fun colour combos you can mix and match. But for a less slipper style house shoe, I would consider some kind of supported ballerina style like Diane's suggestion or a loafer style shoe.
