Khris, I think this type of situation, particularly when you have been as diligent long-term at your SYC and Healthy Habits as you have, is totally called for. You may have indulged in a tiny bit of food and retail therapy, but you didn't blow your budget on a shopping spree or eat an entire birthday cake. I say give yourself a little leeway as you're dealing with so many stressors.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ongoing health concerns and struggle with the bureaucracy of insurance providers. Ugh. Wishing you all the best and hoping that you are soon in better health, or at least with more answers/solutions. I'll keep you in my thoughts.

i'm glad you're doing better after a day...everyone needs a little freakout once in a while. how will we recognize good days if we don't have bad ones?

good luck with the mri...keep up posted. we're here for you.

I have my MRI scheduled for Wednesday morning, and I should have results by Monday. But my doctor is out on a medical leave until September, so I am just picking up and reading the results myself. I think I need to find a neurologist.

Khris,
I can totally relate to all of your health concerns and the stress of diagnosis. You are doing really well and take care of yourself beautifully. I think that we all beat ourselves up when we strive for perfection. You got right back on track and the brownies incident is over and done with. Enjoy the dress. That happens to me and i have learned that I just need to move on. You are under stress and you handle it very well.

prayers and thoughts with you.

BTW_ you should not read the results yourself- that does not sound right, how will you know how to interpret them? Maybe call a neurologist and insist on seeing one when the results are in. I would also take someone with me to take notes because you may be nervous and not remember what the doctor said. That is the advice I have been given.

Khris, hugs! I will keep my fingers crossed for the results. Don't beat yourself up for a little slip up, it will not help anyway. This was a very small price to pay for such a stressful day!
Keep us posted!

What a terrible thing to be going through, Khris! Of course you shouldn't judge yourself for thrifting a dress and eating some brownies! I hope you get some answers soon.

Jean- they told me there will be a written report to read, no interpreting, and no talking to a doctor. I can also get a DVD of the actual MRI to take to the doctor. I was surprised they would let me just pick up my own results, but it sounds like they will be pretty cut and dry.

Great for getting your MRI so quickly. Yes, it probably would be a great idea to get an appt with another neurologist to read the report in the meantime.

Your own doc can always go over it again after he comes back from leave but you don't want to stress about the results til September. I expect he will be especially busy when he gets back too.

Best of luck and sending many good vibes your way.

I agree with the ladies.. yes, you broke your healthy habits and shopping ban.. that happens to all of us! The important is.. do not feel guilty and return to your healthy habits right after!
A big hub from Portugal!

Khris,
That does sound weird, maybe they suspect the results will be fine. I would think that if a serious diagnosis was in question no one would let a patient interpret the test and not be without council. I am not a medical person so I may be totally off. I am thinking of you and will you will be in my thoughts and prayers.
