Greetings from Las Vegas!
I posted late last week, asking about how to solve static cling - re: a polyester version of the famed "Equipment" blouse ( a knock-off from Costco) paired with a cashmere cardigan and how the blouse suddenly decided to act like Saran Wrap on my body (major static cling). I was leaving the next morning and in the middle of packing...
What worked?
Spritzing the inside of the sweater and the blouse with Downy Wrinkle Release, and then using a dryer sheet lightly rubbed on the inside of the blouse and sweater. Worked like a charm! Can't tell if it was the dryer sheet or the Wrinkle Release stuff. I also packed a few plain "Free" type (non-gunky, unscented) dryer sheets with me, and those have actually come in handy! Don't laugh, but I clipped those dryer sheets onto the clips on the hangers in the hotel room closet, in between some of my clothes, and also under some of the clothes (eg. pants/skirt clip hanger, hang dryer sheet on a clip, hang blouse/shirt/sweater over top). I even put two of these dryer sheets into the inside pocket of my purse as well, just in case.
Hope this helps someone else dealing with static cling while packing or traveling. A small stack of dryer sheets will now be permanently installed in an inner pocket of my carry-on bag.
...
Oh, and I think I'm now a brand-new member of the "hand bag club" - my Mom showed up with a gorgeous Michael Kors handbag for me. I was shocked! I can't find a photo of it online, but it's the same bag as this one shown below (except mine is a kind of oxblood colour). I am thinking of taking off the gold-toned "MK" logo thingamabob - it just seems a bit more blingy than I'd like on me. Otherwise, I do love the bag... but am I the only one who wants to take off that dangling, shiny-ish, logo thing???
Anyway, thanks again to all who chimed in on the emergency static cling question - much appreciated!
