According to Wikipedia she's 41. If I had her figure I'd be wearing those short skirts, too! And honestly, as far as I'm concerned she's in show biz/fashion biz and the normal rules don't really apply to what she wears on the show.

Yep, she's 41. I do agree that she has a slamming body and she IS a stylist, so she can wear whatever she chooses. I don't always agree with her ensemble choices.

I quit wearing super short skirts when I turned 40. An at-the-knee length skirt is SO much more flattering.

Have you ever tried sitting gracefully in a mini? Can't do it!

I'm 27 and short, and I my skirts are still generally around knee-length. She does have an amazing body, but I don't personally put too much stock in her opinion... I think she comes across as really mean in her show and, like Barbara, I don't always agree with the ensemble choices.

I notice over the last season or two that her skirts are always shorter now, as well. I have no problem with short skirts at 40 but I think she is stuck in only hitting one note lately. It's often sleeveless in addition to being short and always with sky high heels. I would want someone trying to help me dress express more variety in the way they present themselves, I think. I was liking the bright geo print dresses, sometimes wraps, of several seasons ago better

Why shouldn't she? She's a single gal with a rocking hot bod, working in the fashion industry, with no kids. Good for her.

The definition of "short" is bound to change, as is the age at which it becomes inappropriate.

They should get rid of that sign that says "no miniskirts after 35" or whatever it is, though, for precisely this reason.

I gotta tell you...in many ways, I kind of look forward to wearing minis and ticking off fellow over 35's eight years from now.

Oh there are plenty of gals in their 20's that should NOT be wearing minis so I cannot buy into the age restrictions on clothing. Its all about how the legs look in the mini and Stacy's look great.

I thought the same thing Tuesday night --they came back from commercial with the "no mini skirts over 35" sign and cut right to a long shot of Stacy in her short--but perhaps not mini skirt (and of course snazzy Clinton).
I love watching the ambushees getting a lift in the end. And loving Ted Gibson too!

And--if you've got the legs and the gumption go for it!!!

it's about the body, and the *occasion*. Stacy works in show biz & fashion with a great bod, wearing a mini is all OK.

Now for us mere mortals, wearing a killer mini with a killer body on a special occasion, all for it! For everyday MOTG or office, not so much...

I agree, Rae - she seems like one of those girls that would have been mean in high school while putting on an act of seeming sweet. I don't like her at all, and I don't enjoy the show. At least with the ones I've watched, there seems to be something mean-spirited about it, even when the person is happy in the end.

ETA: As someone who often tries "age-inappropriate" styles, I don't have a problem with her mini-skirts.

I think she always looks great. If I was in that industry, I may wear shorter skirts too, but it's just not appropriate for my lifestyle.

I can't remember Stacey London ever wearing a skirt that I thought was too short. She achieves the right balance between volume and coverage I think - and always looks lovely.

She also has killer hair. It is *very* hard to wear long hair well, especially as you get older. I would have an apoplexy if she cut her locks.

Couldn't agree more, Angie. I love her hair, and her makeup is always so fresh and never over-done. I've always been drawn to her style. Must be the modern classic/bombshellness in me. 8)

I think that Stacy looks great in her mini skirts, no matter how old she is - she's got the body and the pizzaz to easily pull it off! You know, I was just thinking the other night while I was watching WNTW that I used to think Stacy was kind of mean-spirited on the show, but now I don't - and does that mean that she has "softened" up or have I just adapted to her ways? Gosh, I hope not! I hope that she has just become kinder/gentler over the years!

I agree, Marley. I was just watching the one with the Nashville music writer who had issues with surgical scars, and Stacy talked about her own scars, and she was so sweet and nice that I almost teared up! I think she's definitely mellowed out over the years!

(1) I didn't know who Stacy London is, since I apparently live in a cave, and I never watch TV; and

(2) Googling her image ... I was really stunned - because to me ... she looks *significantly* older than 41. :-O

I didn't know who she was either, Deb. I live in a cave with no cable TV too. Significantly older than 41? Hmm, not sure on that one. I think maybe it's because she's so thin. Something about her photo personality looks a little older ...her outfits are so perfect and she seems so "sure" of herself. I am 40 myself. If I lost 20 pounds I can see where it would make me look older, but I think I'd take that trade... hahaha.

Don't get me wrong here, I LOVE her and her style. It just seems we always point out here on the forum about skirts being a tad too short for our ages. I was just wondering if the "rule" had changed a bit. I'm guilty of wearing skirts shorter than knee length and I'm 38.

If I had Stacy's body, I'd show up in a swimsuit for reveal day...lol

and MO.... NO WAY are you almost 40, I also thought you were in your 20's.

I've also thought at times when looking at everyone's outfits here or on blogs that I knew their age. (to know if I could copy a certain look being 38) lol

Teri, I totally knew what you were getting at with your question! LOL

I honestly think it's less an age thing than a "super thin legs" thing. I think nobody should wear skirts more than an inch or so above the knee unless (a) they are very young or (b) you can drive a truck between their thighs.

At 53 I've struggled with skirt length..I like to wear skirts a couple inches above the knee. Thanks to this link from Sal at alreadypretty.com, I now know why. I'm a "short shinner".

I think it works on Stacy due to her fab body but also because she's very sophisticated and polished.

Add less polished hair/makeup and a less sophisticated style and I think she'd look like mutton dressed as lamb.
