Cool coat. It's slightly oversized (I think we're all accustomed to the extreme fitted coats of recent years), but it's not criminal. I understand when you describe having specific issues with fit - one part of you is one size, the other another size. Alterations on a coat can be a little complicated, though. Hmmm...this really depends on how much you love it! For now I'd say it's not an impeccable fit, but the style is really cute, and you could most definitely wear this now! It gives off that unique vintage vibe.

Fruitful, I don't have anything useful to add, but have been watching this thread with interest. I settled for an "good enough" cheap coat last year, but have an eye out for a better quality one too. Hope you find one soon.

PS love seeing Deborah looking out for you !

Modgrl, there's no smaller sizes left. Helen, thanks for those points, which I definitely see! Anne, thanks for your comment - often I don't have anything to add but watch threads too! Isn't Deborah lovely! Jenanded also found a couple of coats for me, but they weren't quite right and I didn't post them - might post them in a mega round up of all the coats I've tried later!

Anne, there are still coats stores are waiting to get in stock!

Oh, I found another reason to like this coat - with it's green undertone, I figured out Pantone would call it "Bamboo", which is the colour name of the first car I ever drove - a 70s Corona - colour matches visually as well! I loved that car cos it went with my retro vibe...So I want my Bamboo/Corona coat...*and* my eventual glasses-matching true-yellow coat too (greedy!)

Deborah, what is interesting about that post is she has her hands stuffed in her pockets a lot. And in my pics with hands in pockets (which I haven't posted) I look pretty cool too!

But without hands in pockets there's an elephant skin bagginess in the sleeves. I'm still to and froing about this!

Okay, this last set of pictures looks better to my eye. Are you wearing more clothes underneath? I so want to tell you to keep this coat... sometimes you just aren't going to recover from the one that got away.

If I'm honest I think it looks too big. I can relate to having a hard time getting a coat to fit, but I would search some more. It just looks so much better if the shoulders fit right!

Thanks Astrid! I have been searching your coat posts, as I know you have similar issues!

Una, in pic 2 I am wearing a jacket under. But TBH I didn't like it with a jacket underneath; it's not how I layer normally (and it pushed up the collar so I had no neck - not good). Winter here on a cold day is around 12 degrees Celsius; on an exceptionally cold day it might drop to 9,8,7 or 6 but those would all make the news This is a wool/cashmere coat and would be wonderfully warm with just an everyday outfit underneath and maybe a scarf (for me that would be a tank under a fitted top or dress, perhaps with a cardigan - preferably a thin one; maybe a thin skivvy/turtleneck as one of those layers). I know what you mean about TOTGA and being emotionally scarred for years LOL! I'm still not over a pair of burgundy Camper boots I missed out on about 5 years ago ^_^ Sometimes it's best to just do it (have the affair) and either it works or it doesn't, at least you get closure ^_^

I'm still loving it!! In fact I'm beginning to think I'm more attached to it than you he he.

Lol Deborah, maybe you should get it!

Gosh, it's a fab coat, and I can totally relate to your desire for a yellow one...but, I think it just seems too big. Something about the shoulder pads and the too-long sleeves (how would you have them shortened if they have the little belts on them?).

Thanks Jonesy! In answer to your question, I don't know! I looked at your coats in a "post your coats" thread Astrid started, and yours fit you very well (trying to see how people wear their coats).

Thanks! Mine are sort of roomy (so I can layer underneath), but I never have an issue with too-big shoulders, since I am an IT :).

Ah! You are lucky, Jonesy! I have issues fitting my butt under a coat, which is a size or 2 bigger than my shoulders

Ooh, that's tough :). My biggest fit issue with coats is sleeve length! I guess we all have our tricky spots...
