i replied that i wanted world peace (ok still waiting on that one)
but also a camel hair coat. and specially i added this Brook Brothers find. well over the Xmas holiday i was back in my hometown and went to the local consignment store with my mom. And the coat was there, waiting for me! its fab, and even though i was not going to buy an other piece of outerwear, it just had to come home with me. (no pictures yet0

but i'm wondering who else has had a wish list/HEWI item fulfilled this recently. or are you still looking?

Wonderful score, kkards, and worth the wait.

I only had one HEWI—gray jeans—that had been on my list for about 5 years. Ever since I demoted my well-loved gray jeans to gardening duty only, I've been looking to replace them. I thought it would be easy, but turned out it wasn't. Over time, I ordered a few, but returned for various reasons.

On our vacation before Christmas, I found the perfect pair—at a COS in Nuremberg—when I wasn't even looking. That was a very satisfying purchase!

Nice coat! I’ve had a couple of camel hair coats over the years from Fleurette. They were a splurge, but I wore them to work every single day in cold weather. Camel hair is really soft, but also really warm.

I looked back at Helena’s thread and I posted about a red boiled wool jacket I saw in the Pendleton catalog and showed my husband. Well, he gave it to me for our anniversary that year, and I still wear it!

one of my long time HEWI was a black dressy blazer. It’s very hard for me to find a blazer that would not require extensive alterations. I basically gave up and sometimes wear my office black blazer for special events. I found a wool blazer with a detachable scarf in December that fits well and it only needs simple sleeves shortening.

This quarter, I ticked many items off my chocolate HEWI list - a satin maxi skirt, cropped jumper, structured highrise trousers & a silk long sleeved top. Buying dark brown items while I still can!

A HEWI is boots that are as comfortable as my sneakers. Previously my Dr Marten boots filled this need, but recently my feet have rejected those boots and many others in my wardrobe as all day walking and travelling boots when I will do about 20,000 steps in a day. Fortunately, I have some ugly hiking boots and they still work. I recently bought these boots and have yet to test them when travelling, but I hold high hopes that they will be OK. On my next trip I plan to take these boots and the hiking boots which always seem less ugly given I have happy feet when wearing them.

For years, a HEWI on my list has been a "really good" western hat. I didn't really have any specifics in mind, beyond "something really good". I have a few here and there that I've thrifted - a men's Stetson, a couple of Indiana Jones hats (also made by Stetson), an Aussie-stye straw hat, and a battered straw cowgirl hat that feels very California.

Well, I stopped by a consignment store in late September to pick up a check, and as I was leaving the store, I saw THE Hat of My Dreams sitting in the window. I picked it up, turned around, marched back to the register, handed them back my check, and bought myself a hat!

I was so thrilled, I immediately did a selfie in the store, and in my car. The third photo is one of our publicity photos, used in a flyer.

This hat is not for everyday wear. I've worn it for several shows now, and I always have people come up after the performance and ask me where I found it.

I bought an inexpensive case for it on Amazon, but when we start doing fly dates, I'm going to buy a proper hat suitcase.

The most recent HEWI I found was a pair of Easy Spirit black leather ankle boots that I ordered from Maryland Square. They are a plain style with low heels, comfortable and not clunky looking at all, and I can wear them with dress pants and not feel awkward. And they are filling a hole in my wardrobe that was left when my last pair of ankle boots fell apart.

I feel that in the past couple of months I've come across several items that I've had on my mental shopping list for a while, so I've ended up buying more than expected recently. Not exactly HEWI status, but close. They are mostly layering pieces that will help me make outfits.
