Well, at long last here are some of my pictures from London and Oxford.

#1: This is pretty much how I look in all of the non-formal photos from this trip. The weather was decent but windy with bursts of light rain so the trench coat was perfect for it. In fact, trench coats appeared to be the coat of choice for most women in London. I saw a lot of Burberrys. Also several amazing turquoise/teal trenches, which made me very jealous as there doesn't seem to be a single one available in stores around here.

This photo was taken outside the Victoria and Albert Museum, where we saw the wedding dresses exhibit that Inge mentioned in one of the recent Friday posts. I have no photos from inside the exhibit as photography was not permitted, but it was amazing and well worth the visit if you are in London. Here is a good slideshow of some pieces from the exhibit:

#2: Monkey statues at the Tower of London. No idea why there are monkeys.

#3-7: Photos from Westminster Abbey. The event was the Order of the Bath installation service attended by the Queen and Prince Charles. A friend who works at the Abbey got us tickets. Our seats were far back so we only caught a faraway glimpse of the Queen (who is TINY by the way) although we did wander out just in time to catch the Prince getting into his car! There is a slideshow of the service here:

You can see some ladies in hats and morning dress in some of these photos.

#8: Taken in the Oxford Botanical Gardens. Again, the ubiquitous trench coat.

#9-10: Photos from the hat shop (The Hat Box in the Oxford Covered Market) where I bought my pillbox hat. I literally walked in two hours before the wedding and tried on hats. The women working there (including the owner) were amazing and actually customized the hat for me right then and there. (They added the pink feathers to match my dress; if I decide I'd rather have a different color later, I can actually pull out the pink feathers and glue in other ones if I want.). I also bought the red straw hat you saw in my WIW from Saturday.

#11-12: outfit with hat from the wedding. I have my Bellatrix jacket on underneath the trench, which was only worn outdoors. It was quite cold, windy, and a bit rainy, so I was glad to have the extra layers! Do you recognize the staircase?

#13: J and I with the bride and groom. It was a lovely wedding. =)
