Neutral: black 30 items ( and grey 5, navy 5)
Colour: blue if we count the navy above as well as cobalt we get 17, otherwise it is olive with 14.
Colours I want: all the brights to be added to my summer wardrobe, slowly- bright pink, orange, turquoise, lime green, purple, yellow. I can wear my gold sandals with the bright threads with any of those.
Patterns I have: 15 florals!
Patterns I want: realistically more florals, but would love more peacocks, more butterflies, more snakeskin, more houndstooth, more paisleys... none of which fits with shrinking my wardrobe and making it more sustainable!
Exhibit below: all the brights!

JenniNZ- Do get some of the brights!! They suit you and your personality.

The Cat - you really know your colours well - lovely sophisticated cool colours. I forget about argyle but it is a great print.

Torontogirl - that red and green will be lovely on you. A lovely cool weather shade that has that nice cosy factor.

Dianna - we can both look for spots and dots. I find shocking pink around so I hope some turns up for you.

Suz - you also have a good handle on what works for you. I could see you in a tartan coat...... tartan very much reminds me of my family as my grandmothers both wore a fair bit of tartan and my Mum loved it.

Unfrumped - I like teal too, and lovely with browns.

Staysfit - I hope those pinky reds turn up....they suit you so well.

Minaminu - I had to look up vichy....gingham is gorgeous - I hope the right shade of pink arrives for you.....

Anchie - that is interesting. Your neutrals are so even. And whilst you own more blue you wear more pink...... You suit bright vibrant colours but I do also like you in the neutrals. Similar colours to Angie really.

Rachy - you can't count black twice...........zebra print is fun. My sister has a fun zebra top that she often wears. And if you find confetti geometric you have to show me so I know what it is...

slimcat - have you thought of a bag in the yellow? I love my yellow bag and find it pretty easy to incorporate....... or even a guitar strap for an existing bag. I love aqua too.....and not easy to find.

Brooklyn - there has been a lot of rust here too. And some lovely deep greens - and it is hard to know re stocking up. I remember the sad days of the early 2010s when there was black white grey and maybe blush/nude with no earth colours. Those days were what drew me to YLF because I struggled to find winter clothes at all.

Nuance dream - oooh paisley!!!!! Sumptuous pattern isn't it. And another one like me wanting green.

Janet - another one on the green/teal list....... and another one wanting to steal Brooklyn's ombre. I see you have the mask but could definitely see you in more.

JamC - tie dye...maybe you should give it a go...there is a bit of light blue around so I hope you can find some in the right styles.

NemosMom - no surprises for me here except that you really prefer solids to patterns. I could see you in ombre too. Yes we will all have to keep an eye out for teal.

Phoebe - okay no more stripes for you haha!! nor blue....

Alice - green - obviously retailers need to read this thread. I also need to ease back and enjoy what I have..... I have a soft spot for English/heritage winter patterns too especially in a Lady Mary from Downton Abbey style....

Fun!
Most common neutral - black
Most common color - blue
Color I want to add - purple
Most common pattern - hard to say
Pattern I look for - abstract florals, dots, paisley, checks and plaids, almost anything but I am very fussy about which particular pieces I like

Shevia - fun indeed. I am also picky with patterns - I will like one stripe and not the next, same with florals. I rarely am drawn to plaid or checks at all.......

Fun, I'll play!

@Sal, I thought about yellow bag like the pretty one you have ( it works so well with your outfits! ).
I'd like a crossbody bag ( medium-small size ) with some yellow color in the print. I'm contemplating that one from Macy's https://www.macys.com/shop/pro.....xx-xx.myli

Fun questions!

What neutral do you have the most of in your closet? Navy - especially if you count in dark denim blue
What colour do you have the most of in your closet? Well, counting navy and denim blue as neutral then the pink family is the best represented color. I have mostly blush which functions more like a neutral, but also pale pink and dusty rose.
What colour would you like more of in your closet? None! I set out to add more seafoam this year and due to good retail availability have succeeded toctge point I don't crave more.
What pattern do you have the most of in your closet? This was a surprise to me: most of my patterns are nearly equally represented even though some I like more than others (3-4 pieces). I think I have added some stripes and florals when I wanted pattern because they're so easily available. Checks, plaid and houndstooths were more deliberately added when they became available. Novelty prints like my giraffe print dress and bird blouse occasionally come into my wardrobe when I really like the complete piece. And my favorite 'organic abstract' pattern is only represented as much or as little as the others because it's so rare...
What pattern would you like more of? Easy. Organic abstract and possibly ombre.

La Pedestrienne - window pane is fun - I had some great pants in this pattern that I loved!!!!

Stylefan - good luck with the leopard coat. I would quite like one too - but they do have to be just right:)

cjh - another paisley fan. Purple comes and goes - I hope the right shade turns up.

preppy pear - I read somewhere that plaid is back again this fall. I think it is always around to some degree in fall/winter though. I also read that preppy style is back so you should be happy!!

Liesbeth - patterns are quite instinctual and sometimes you can feel drawn to one and not to another that is similar. Giraffe print sounds interesting!!

slimcat - that is a great bag especially for wearing with neutrals and solid colours - and even stripes.

Most common neutral:
Gray (charcoal to silver) on top
Black on bottom
But cream/off white and white in-between

Most common color:
Color? What's color??? Maybe red for toppers/outerwear?

Most wanted color:
Possibly coral. In truth, probably anything in red family from coral to strawberry to burgundy.

Most common pattern:
Stripes by mile.

Most desired pattern:
Polka dots. Followed by snow leopard and zebra.

Ummm, there's kind of a predicable pattern here.

I haven't done a tally but I think

- greens/teals/purples/reds - colours people want but are harder to find. I also wonder if we find them and then revert to the safer colour.....

- Stripes seem to be easy to find, whereas paisley, plaids/tartan, smaller florals, abstract, polka dots and animal print, and ombre are a bit harder. I can see why - for example out of five floral prints I will often only like one, and it can be hard to put into words why I like that one. Similar with leopard print.....

Donna - I love coral - such a vibrant happy and flattering colour!!

Most common neutral -- Black. So. Much. Black.

Most common colour -- probably charcoal

Most wanted colour -- There are lots of colour holes to fill! I'm looking for "just the right shades" of teal, green, olive, brown, camel, oatmeal, blush/pink, blue (including denim) and yellow. And white.

Most common pattern -- leopard, dots, stripes, floral

Most desired pattern -- more stripes, dots, leopard, floral.-- and I'd like a graphic tee or two if that counts as a pattern. Maybe some checks.

Looks like you have some shopping to do Carol. Maybe you need a ban on black for a while? It is hard - I am trying to cut back on black but have added the following finds in black this year alone.

You said, it Sal. Nice finds! Black is just so darned easy...

I've been out buying a few casual pieces for fall and trying desperately to avoid black. (Easier said than done -- I ended up with a couple of black and white patterned tops that I have already set aside to return!) The only exception would be a boxy/slouchy black and white striped sweater, which I would happily mix will olive, blue, brown... I almost bought one a couple of weeks ago and am kicking myself because it is not there now!

The good news is that I have also added some actual NON-black pieces in the last couple of weeks!!!

Most common neutral-Navy

Most common colour-Red

Colour I want more of-red(you can never have enough red)Although I have made a surprising foray into yellow this year.

Most common pattern-stripes

Pattern I would like more of-leopard and polka dots.I am fond of plaid as well.

Thank you .It was fun to read everyone else’s responses.
