Some contenders for fall, styled...

A bunch of fall pieces I ordered arrived this week! Shoes I posted about already, BR Sloan ankle pants in a black/grey texture that reads grey, A Blazer, Mixed Media Moto, and Everlane round collar blouse in dusk.

I was really excited about the blouse, but unfortunately the colour on me is tragic. It's too bad because I LOVE #2 from the collar down, but the pretty soft purpley shade and my skin together just look hopelessly dull. I did find a couple of potential alternatives... A piped blouse with round collar from Club Monaco, and the same blouse from Everlane in light grey.

I'm on the fence about the moto in #5 and the floral pumps in #3. Will have to try some more outfits with both. The sleeves on the moto are too long, so keeping it would be dependant on being able to shorten them. They are knit so I am not sure it will be possible. I absolutely love the pumps, but I'm not sure I'd wear them enough to be worth keeping.

Love #1 and #3. The bouse is lovely on you and he color suits your complexion. The blazer in #2 seems too harsh with the shirt. I am not personally a fan of the skirt with brogues look, it seems overwhelming and of on your small frame, same with the moto. These, of course, are my opinions, lovely gal, no reflection on you

Missey, I really appreciate the feedback! I think something is off in the skirt/brogues/moto look, too. Looking with fresh eyes, the moto/belt in the pencil skirt outfits are just too much with the shoes...

I really think you should keep the blouse it is so very pretty on you. My favorites are 1-3. The moto sleeves can be shortened by a good tailor. I think this is just the wrong styling for these brouges. I would like to se a skirt like a retro midi that maybe a bit fuller like a circle skirt. It will work will with the right combination.

Good point ladywone, I think you are right about the pencil skirt. I do have a midi skirt on my fall list.

I think 1-3 are terrific. In #4 I would roll up or push up the sleeves, that might make a difference. Love the cognac accents. I would try #5 with a darker shoe. You really look lovely throughout.

I wish I had time to comment on everything, but I a short on time tonight.
But I wanted to say that I love the BR ankle pants in #1 and I think the blouse looks great! I don't think it looks dull at all.

I like the moto with the skirt on you. I would see if you can get the sleeves shortened, but would lean toward keeping if yes. It looks like a good fit, and it is so chic looking on you.

On the blouse: I'm not crazy about the color of that blouse with the black and white moto and black skirt. Or with the black blazer. But I do like the blouse color on you, so maybe it would go with other things you have. I wonder if the blouse is too big, though? I can't tell where the shoulder seams hit, but the sleeves look long. Do the other two blouses go better with your wardrobe?

The floral pumps are a tough call. They look dynamite on you. Can you find several things you'd wear with them? They might be worth keeping, because you are bound to find more things to go with with them if you really love them. You could even wear them with boyfriend jeans.

I really like the 1st and 3rd outfits, along with the floral pumps. I have to say you're very pretty and I like your hair pulled back it looks great on you!

Those ankle strap shoes are my absolute favorite item. They look gorgeous with everything. LOVE.

My favorite outfit is #2. I think the blouse does better on you with the sharpness of the black jacket framing it. But I also think the grey or (especially) the b/w alternate you found might be better for your tone and would also work beautifully in this outfit (and others).

The moto is going back - I gave it another try this morning and discovered that one reason the sleeves are too long is that it is much too big in the shoulders. Like, shoulder seems are all the way off my shoulder and on my arm big. It wasn't obvious at first because of the very forgiving knit fabric and my mediocre photo light. No smaller size available to try, unfortunately.

Ditto the everlane blouse - Monitors vary and I don't have the best photo light. I promise that the colour is just terrible on me! It's like a Dementor made of gorgeous silk. It is a touch bit all over - I was a bit concerned about the shoulders, but after comparing the measurements online to other shirts I have I've exchanged for the light grey in a smaller size.

The cognac waist belt in #4 will probably go back, too. I think it is a bit too snug for comfort and a bit too wide. I do like the idea of a belt to wear over a blouse + pencil skirt, though, so will be keeping an eye out for something more suitable.

I think the blazer in #2 will be staying, though I will likely have the sleeves shortened as they are quite long.

@Shevia: Thanks, 1-3 are my favourite! I think the shoes from #1 would be better with my back pencil skirt than the cognac flats..

@Viva, I love the ankle strap shoes, too! In fact I am wearing them right now. The strappy details are a dainty and elegant upgrade to my trusty pointy flats. I think you and I are seeing the same thing re: the blouses. Serendipitously, the CM one is now on sale + 40% off.
