Oh Isabel now THAT is an adventure and a half. You are a wonderful woman, truly. I'm so glad to hear that amidst the craziness you all, hubby and son included, found ways to enjoy yourselves. Always making the most of the situations presented! I am bummed your daughter had to miss out on the snorkeling though, that's one of my favorite things in all the world. When you make it back there again, definitely try to go! You won't regret it, it's magical.
I HATE being sick when traveling, not so much for the losing vacation aspect but because it's so much harder than being at home where everything is comfortable, familiar, and more readily available. The last vacation we too this past New Years, I caught something nasty towards the end and of course passed it on to hubby shortly afterwards, so we spent our 2 days at the Grand Canyon sick as all get-out. I also looked cute, and hey I have to say that's a good enough pick-me-up on its own, isn't it? ^^
If your son appreciates commiseration stories, you can tell him a good one of mine: I used to get fairly panicky about flying because I have motion sickness. On our honeymoon we went to Maui, and on the way back they split our seats up... Long story short I might be on that airline's "crazy wife who really needs to be seated next to her husband or else she freaks out" list now
