Soft and soothing tones for fall 2021 (WIB)

I broke the seal and started shopping for transitional/fall items - I don't need much until we really get into the really cold weather, but am pleased with the pieces I've got - I think they'll get plenty of wear *crosses fingers* and feel fresh but classic. Feeling the soft tones and neutrals at the moment.

1. Lightweight medium blue sweater - looks nice with white shorts or jeans, ideal for warm early fall.
2. Crewneck puffy sleeve sweater - love this; I purchased in a rose brown shade (darker than shown) and was very tempted to get the burgundy version too - but trying to be less of a dupe-er (never say never though - it's a pretty sweater)
3. Beige tonal camo scarf - to build a beige complement with my new purse and beige booties (old, but I added the find to show the complement); think it will be good with my navy light puffer for fall
4. Aforementioned beige purse. Loving this - just the right size, and an all-year colour
5. The boring gray tee from NAS which I actually can't wait to wear!

Now for this heatwave to break so I can start wearing some of these!

Soft and soothing for fall looks and sounds wonderful to me! I especially like the beige compliment you are building. The sweaters are both very pretty! Be patient, you will soon have your chances to wear them! I have only purchase two items for fall: a very soft, lightweight v neck floral sweater and a mixed media long sleeved jersey with florals and stripes.

The weather here has been very varied, I haven't bought anything for fall yet - not even changed the seasonal clothes! Planning to do it this weekend

My favorite consignment shop was having a 30% off sale so for fall a got an EF coral quilted jacket with mandarin collar, a navy fair isle sweater that is not too heavy and a tan hooded cable knit cardi that will be a warm cover up. They are supposed to be taking fall things around Labor Day, so I am looking forward to that. I want more tan and light warm browns and especially need some full length warm pull on pants and would like color and prints but nothing that looks like pjs or sweats and in natural fabrics. I would love some velvet pants and am trying to avoid cords as they always seem to bag out and look old and faded after a washing or two. I also want to replace my holiday wool beaded skirt and dark brown booties. Other than that I am ok with what I have and can be picky and need to pull everything out to take stock and make a list of needs and wants. Online sites like FF Renew, do not give enough info on exact color or lengths.

Your soft calming shades look lovely together. You are inspiring me to shop my closet for that look. In deep winter I have mostly black or grey so it all looks dark.

Great collection! Fall is too far off my me to contemplate right now. I do not even remember what I might have added to my jacket or sweater collection. Middle aged memory - makes every season fresh again .

You are smart to be prepared. About a week ago, the weather here decided summer is done. I’ve never had such a chilly birthday! Of course it’s all relative; in the springtime we think 60 is warm. Still, I’m hoping for one of those nice warm autumns where shorts and skirts with bare legs are just fine.

I like these, the print of the scarf is very fun yet still subtle. And the bag is gorgeous.

Sal, YES - the pool's been a blessing as we've had such a heat wave this month!

Viva - the first time I wore the taupe boots, the dye from my jeans rubbed off of them. I chanced a magic eraser with a light touch, and it took most of it out; it's not really noticeable. These are Blondos which wear like teflon, so I guess they could withstand the scrubbing.

The first wear of the beige purse, the dye from my t-shirt rubbed of on it (*facepalm*) - thank God I noticed straight away and was able to wipe it off with a damp cloth. So all that to say, yes, I can't say the lighter colours are low maintenance, but they do seem to have come good so far!

I’m despairing of having to sweat out more weeks in the summer clothes I’m sick to death of. Ughhh. I actually get depressed this time of year, the continual mugginess with no break is oppressive.
