It seems to me that even last year when I glanced at the tall boots available, nothing came close to tempting me. I feel like the tall styles have been a bit stale for a few years now. And in a tall boot, it seems like quality becomes really, really apparent -- cheap leather looks cheap when it covers your entire calf.
I like those first SW, gryffin. As for that second style, I have a love-hate relationship with OTK boots. I would try them again, but I'm not sure. I had the 5050's and I liked them, but I was stupid and kept them in a size just a little too big for me, so they always got gappy and wrinkly around my ankles. Plus I have fat knees (yes, this is a thing), and a lot of OTK boots come right up to where my knee fat starts, and then end, making the pudge bulge out over the top of the boot. Really not attractive.
I don't want a very high heel. I want something I can wear all day and not feel like tearing off my feet after a couple of hours. That led me to get rid of most of my tall boots a year or two ago.
Diana, I've drooled over those Valentinos too! That's one of the reasons I kept this Find below, even though they're not terribly practical -- they give a little of that vibe.
