Slippers - UGG vs LLBean

So, upon reviewing my loungewear capsule which will get a great deal of use here shortly, i noted that I should replace one of my two pairs of slippers. I was getting ready to pull the trigger at LL Bean when Nordies sent me something about UGG slippers.

I have a pair of tall "proper" leather UGG boots I love, but not sure if their slippers are worth the premium over LL Bean.

Would love to know if anyone has any experience with these. I do live in a very cold climate, and once baby comes, my feet won;t be mini furnaces. So yes, I really am looking for slipper this warm

I've only heard good thing about Bean shearling. The second pair you show look cozier than the first - who wants nippy ankles?

I adore Bean slippers and think they are really good quality for the price.

The Uggs slippers I've tried in the past have been very wide, which may or may not be good for you depending on the price. I have not tried the Bean slippers you show here, but I like the regular moccasins.

Also, what size do you wear? My sister has the Ugg slippers in the children's version, which is cheaper. A Big Kids 6 (the largest kid's size) is around a women's 8.

My son wears UGG slippers and they wear out quite easily...I don't really feel they are worth the money...Don't have a rec for LL Bean slippers...
However, I found some that absolutely fill the bill for me...at Walmart...They are the suedey material with a fur lining...soooo warm...I had a pair last winter that I wore out...This year I was in the store and there were my slippers...They look like UGGS..hence, I call them WUGS...about 13.00...I was absolutely delighted with them last winter...

My last pair of Bean slippers lasted me 10 years. They were the dark brown leather ones (which is great if you like to cook in your slippers like I do, and might spill on them). I've tried on Ugg slippers, but I don't find them as comfortable as the Bean ones, but I can't articulate why. And of course Bean stands behind their products if you feel that they don't hold up well, so there's that.

LL Bean has such great policies in terms of customer satisfaction/warranty, etc that I would pick them if they fit and you like them!

I have a pair of Ugg slippers that are wonderful. I have worn them 5-6 years and I think I have a couple more years in them. Haven't had the LLBean version, but their quality is usually topnotch.

My bean slippers are several years old and show no signs of quitting. They are amazing quality. In fact, I was just raving about them to a friend who will be bed-bound for several weeks after an operation and was looking for comfy slippers. (I have the comfort clogs, which have an outdoor sole that lets me run outside after my kiddos if I need to.) I haven't tried the UGG ones, so can't compare. However, I don't think you can go wrong with the LL Bean ones.

I just got some bean slippers when I moved last month and LOVE them (in fact, I plan to order their shearling inserts now for my boots come winter). They're these (and I sized down to a 6 when w regular shoes I wear 6.5/7) and I love that they're a darker colour so shouldn't show marks as easily and don't have the fleece collar which seems like it'd be dirty too quickly (plus, it wouldn't actually warm my ankles, since it seems decorative). But I haven't tried the ugg ones so I can't compare.

I have that pair of Ugg slippers (dakota). Mine are dark brown and I love them. Probably 5 years old now and still look like new except the fleece on the back heel is dyed black from wearing black socks with them.

I am so glad you raised this question, Thistle. I need new slippers and was wondering what to order. I'm going to try Bean.

I ordered the LL Bean slippers in dark brown. I like the fact they tell you exactly where the shearling is comign from ratehr than listing a bunch of countries, some of which I question the quality of more than others. Everythign I have ever bought from LL Bean has been very nice quality, except for one sheet that was horrible. They took it back, though, no questions asked, and didn't even charge me for return shipping.

And, as I was pursuing, an elderberry fleece robe jumped into my cart as well. I figure it will be nice to have this winter and be good for middle of the night nursing.

I hope they work. And a robe is indispensable. I had three on constant rotation for middle of the night feedings. One warm long one, one lightweight long one and a short one I could throw on over sweats and a tank. And let me be honest, they got some daytime use also.

My feet just have to vote, when it comes to slippers. I have more than one kind, too. I don't tolerate any pinching, or too much slipping either so it's a balance. I wear an XL in some Dearfoams that cover the ankles, and only those that are loose and comfy, not the tight poufy ones. But I did have some down slippers once that were good. And I currently have some in a brand that's styled more like slip on shoes, with better soles for weekend lounging, so I run outside no problem, but also sized up for comfy socks and such. Good luck and don't settle!.

Also bean has the amazing return policy... But I've had black uggs for 5-6 years & no complaints.

My mother-in-law wears Ugg slippers and I am amazed how quickly they have worn down. Sounds like you made a great choice.

Btw, I wear the Ugg short boot as a house shoe in the cold months and they are holding up really well.
