Sizing of Burgundy Dres?

I might try the burgundy Dres if my burgundy AGs no longer fit. How is the sizing/fit? Angie mentioned that they fit "like the old Dres," but I don't know what that means.

I ordered a size up in the "old Dres" -- and took a 27 from my usual 26, for a slightly slouchier look. (Right now they are a lot less slouchy, but let's not go into that issue, ahem.)

Anyway -- I actually ordered my regular size 26 in the burgundy. They haven't arrived yet, but my reasoning was as follows:

Truefit told me that is my size and the last few times I ignored Truefit, I was sorry.

AND -- the fabrication includes more stretch than my original Dres, which are 98% cotton and 2% heaven-only-knows-what. In jeans that have more stretch, I invariably prefer my regular size (or even a smaller size).

Not to complicate matters, but when I bought these last year, I went down one size. I have blue denim dre's in my regular size but I found the burgundy ones to fit a bit bigger. I'm not sure how this year's version of the burgundy will fit though. I'm sure Angie will chime in.

Lisa, it doesn't really complicate. I purposely bought mine on the slightly larger side for a slouchier look...not full on baggy BF, but a bit BF -ish. Mine were a lot looser than they showed them on the models and looser than most Fabbers wore theirs. Viva, I think you saw them on me in Boston? I was wearing them then.

It also probably depends a bit on body type. I'm a (supposedly) "slim" hourglass/ rectangle. With thigh girthage and some bottom, but relatively slim hips.

I also bought these last year. I wanted a slim fit, not skinny or slouchy but somewhere between. I ended up purchasing the smaller of my two sizes. I was glad I did because they stretch about a half size with wear.

I bought the burgundy Dre jeans last year too. I sized down, and those suckers still stretched out—a lot. Not a happy camper with the Dres.

These fit me well. They've got room in the butt and thigh and plenty of rise for me. I'm relatively curvy on bottom compared to my waist size and I found my regular size fits great. If you are slimmer on bottom you could probably stand to size down.

Well, I went with Truefit's recommendation which was my regular size so we will see. I have slim hips but full thighs so it is always hard to tell. Also I still need to check my AGs for fit. (I have lots of decisions to make.)

I tried the Dre denim last year and the fit was laughable on me so I didn't consider these. Please update the fit when you receive them. I think I read on another post that these fit different than previous Dre's in a good way. I have the Paige burgundy jeans on my list. I have the same style in black so I thought they would be a no-brainer.

These fit me TTS (I usually wear 27). The "old" (last year's) Dre's were way too tight in my usual size.

I did find that these were strangely baggy in the rear on me - a bit diaper-like - so I did not keep them, while the Paige's were too sausage-casing on me.

No burgundy jeans for me, alas. Hope you fare better.

I ordered my normal size last night, so we'll see how they handle hips;-).

Colette, re the Paiges. The color is amazing. The fabric on them feels more like leggings than denim. For me, I'm hoping to find a pair that allows me to tuck if I want to. However, the color! I may end up keeping them to use as leggings under a long top.

Thanks Angie. I really hope you are right. I don't want tight -- that;s why I have to give up the AG burgundy leatherettes -- but I don't want diaper sag either.
