I do like the second one a lot, but if you're only keeping one, first one hands down.

Tough choice! I think I would have to pick the blue one, if I HAD to pick. Both look great, though.

I prefer the blue one. Blue is your colour, Suz.

I prefer the blue as you look stunning in blue. The white seems a little less modern to my eye. It's probably just me, I know. White is probably more on trend but I'm stuck on blue.

parsley said exactly what I was thinking. Blue pattern looks like cabbage roses, which makes it look old fashion. love love love the cream one!

I actually like the vintagey look of the floral pattern in #2, go figure. I vote #2 but I am biased, since I own that blazer.

Hah! This is SO interesting!! Can opinions differ or what

Suz, I prefer the blue by a billion percent. To my eye, the cabbage roses are more Retro-Chic (a la darling Shannon) and sophisticated - and therefore more Modern, if that makes sense. You know I love pinks, reds, oranges and white - but the white floral looks more juvenile next to the blue. And of course, I also love blue.

High fiving Zap and bj1111!

What does Mr. Suz think?

*High fiving Angie back*

And I am about to reply to your bootcut comment on this mornings blog post, Zap. I LOVE that you have made them your signature look!

Oh, thank you, everybody!!

I am not sure I am keeping either of these jackets; but I'm definitely not keeping the cream one. I love the pattern in theory, but I feel it is too small/ delicate -- too something, anyway...it just isn't quite right for me. The one on the blue jacket feels more in scale, somehow, and more "me." Plus, the colour is divine.

Mr. Suz really likes the blue one, Angie. I was surprised, actually -- it is a bit of a "feminine" look for his usual taste. (I didn't think he would care for either, and he really disliked the cream one on me.)

But there is something really quite lovely about the cut of this jacket IRL. It is really comfortable to wear -- Zap, do you agree? I like the way it sort of swings gently. It has this "unstructured structure" feel much more in person than it may look in the pics.

I prefer the blue as well, so fun and seems like it will work so nicely with your wardrobe.

The quick answer is that I love the blue one on you. The cut is really good and the color suits you. And Angie loves it and says it's modern, so there it is!

The more in depth answer is: I still see these prints as dated because I spend so much time in thrift stores and they are filled with them. I love the blue color on you, but I would want to make sure that you get "credit" for being modern and fashion forward, and that depends on your audience. Also keep in mind that IRL, the modern elements are probably much more recognizable than in a photo, so take all of this with a big grain of salt.

Yes, Claire - I think the modern elements are really super clear in person. The cut of this jacket is anything but twee. It's a sort of loose tuxedo style with no closure and low stance. And I guess I still have a soft spot for retro elements at times....Shannon and I are soul-sisters on that score. It's tricky to find modern pieces that express that retro vibe, which may be one reason this appealed to me on the rack.

Oh, so interesting to see Claire's comment about the prints! I spend a lot of time shopping secondhand, too - maybe that is coloring my opinion on the blue print.

Blue for sure. The print on the white one looks ... I dunno, messy and dull somehow. (With florals, though, I always go with my gut. Either they speak to me or they don't.)

Yes, Suz, the jacket is stunning, very modern looking in person and very versatile. I actually belted it closed with a wide studded belt and kept the rest of the outfit monocromatic, for a recent outing. I got so many compliments.

and... Smiling at Angie, re. bootcuts:)

You have enough answers...that's didn't read to see which was in first place! But I like the blue one.

Possibly too late but the second one looks the better to me. Wonder which one you bought.

Can't you keep both? With this outfit combo, though, and if you plan on keeping only one... than I vote for the blue version.

They are both smashing, but I really like the blue one best!
