I don't care for the spammers threads, but unfortunately that's part of society now-a-days. Spam and junk mail.

Old threads, sometimes I find them interesting so I don't mind if they are bumped up.

Links to other blogs, if the person just puts their blog link somewhere in their post, sort of like an after thought, I don't mind. But if they are actively trying to get others to go to their blog and using the forum as another way to "advertise" I don't care for that.

at least on my computer, it's obvious which threads are old revived threads. they don't appear highlighted, like they don't appear to have new responses even though they are on page 1. i'm not explaining this well. they're white instead of grey for new responses or pink for urgent.

Eh, the forum moves so quickly I ignore the opportunistic posts. (Although if it's obviously spam I do mark them.)

The last 4 threads I clicked on were all old posts revived by the same "member" solely to give a link to his or her company. Maddening.

JG, clicking on the gear symbol at the bottom right of a post opens a little command box that says "report."

JG, those were definitely spam and I have removed them all.

At least the frustration of having wasted my time on spam made me put down my phone and get to my chores. When I came back a few minutes later the posts were gone. Hurray! Thanks, Inge. And thanks, Mo, for the thread that's helping us all clarify what is and isn't ok and how to respond to the latter.
Amy K, I was thinking from Angie's comments yesterday that only veterans could report spam. I really should get my phone surgically detached from my hand and go to my computer to learn more about YLF.

Great post Mo, thanks for starting this,

And it never fails to impress me just how generous Angie is. The spam I ignore but I have always felt that it was a little rude for people to gratuitously promote their own blogs here. Particular given we have the facility to post pics here along with the facility we have to link to our own blog (if we have one ) through our profile details. For me the participation is key so I tend to differentiate between those that "participate" and those that just seem to be promoting their wares so to speak.
