Shoulder studs on ITs?

Doesn't the detailing just add more bulk to the shoulders? I'm thinking of the Zara blazer with studs - not going to fit, but if I found something similar...

I don't think detailing would add bulk at all, especially in a nice drapey fabric. Plus, I sort of revel in my ITness lately :). Embrace the IT, I say!

I'm an IT who likes emphasizing my shoulder line. It's there, it's mine, and I like the way it makes me look taller and slimmer. I'd say go for the studs. As Angie would say "the devil's in the details"; as long as the cut looks good on you, I can't see why we IT's need to camouflage our strong shoulder line. They make me feel powerful.

If the studs did not extend all the way to the outer edge of the shoulder would that create the illusion of narrowing the shoulder line? Placement may be everything.

Gaylene: "I'm an IT who likes emphasizing my shoulder line." Me too! i cannot recall every seeing a woman and thinking "OMG look at those freakishly distended shoulders!!!!" (barring Dynasty-style power suits, but that's the clothing not the woman). I think a strong shoulder line is great, if anything it makes a person look more fit and i appreciate that it naturally distracts from my full bust so i don't have to 'work' extra to downplay that.

I can never understand those 'figure flattery recommendations' that tell women to downplay their shoulders. Never!!! steph

I thought the same as RoseandJoan. That is how I approach epaulettes and wide collars - the strong visual *stop* that they create is pretty flattering when they are set a bit in from the actual shoulder.

I actually kind of miss shoulder pads, a teeny tiny bit. Yes, the huge honkin' ones. Because back then, everyone was striving for the most exaggerated IT figure they could achieve. Those were the days. Remember putting shoulder pads in your tee shirts?
