I have this exact same issue. Even at my skinniest, in high school, my thighs rubbed together. It's just how I'm built. Rotating jeans is kind of a false solution--you'll spend the same amount of money either way. If you have 3 pairs of jeans thast last 3 years, the cost is the same as having 1 pair of jeans that lasts 1 year. If you want more than one pair of jeans, of course (I would - I have about 10!) then have at it! Let me know if you need enabling!
I do think some brands go quicker than others, but in the end my jeans all get worn out in that area.
This is not my challenge, but everyone has one and I can see how frustrating this is. I think it may be worth a try to use Glory's suggestion for reinforcement with iron on fusing or thin"patches" that are a close match in color on the inside of the denim at pressure points before they begin to wear. Perhaps they will remain wearable longer if the fabric has reinforcement from the start. Of course, you want it to be smooth and comfortable inside. I did this with my son's jeans when he had some fancy first grade move that ripped through his right knee weekly.

This is a not fixed as easily as some dilemmas ( ie size up and tailor). I wonder what the pros would say.

Good luck.
As for the higher end vs. lower end, I have recently noticed some friction issues with my jag jeans (not high end exactly but not inexpensive) and a pair of Gap skinnies. Doing laundry today I inspected my "inventory" and am not noticing anything like that on my Levis (oldest pair is nearly 8 years old and has had tons of wear) or Lands End skinnies or a pair of Merona (Target) black skinnies that are a looser fit overall but not quite boyfriend. After looking at fabric content, it seems to come down to stretch in the fabric. The less stretch, the less wear in the thigh.

Best of luck on your jean hunt! Report back so we can hear about any new finds.
