Jenn, I hope you can let any guilt go. You are such a careful purchaser, have made such excellent choices, and you've had a really tough set of conditions to live through these past few years! You deserve a little fun. Nothing here looks unconsidered for your style or your values.

I completely agree that that last few years almost don't count. I have not felt that I've got a handle on what my new lifestyle might end up being like here, beyond the endless hiking and walking in my neighbourhood. We're still not going out very much -- and maybe we never will! -- and still not travelling the way we used to, and I'm teaching online and in classrooms occasionally but never know what it will be. At some point, I guess I'll have a clearer picture but it hasn't entirely emerged yet.

Suz, we went from traveling between Colorado and California multiple times a month to not setting foot on an airplane in three years. It's still rather jarring. Not to mention going from a small-town lifestyle to an urban one.
